NetHope has opened applications for a remote Lead Consultant position to oversee two major global initiatives focused on artificial intelligence and humanitarian digital transformation. The consultancy offers experienced project management professionals an opportunity to lead strategic programmes that strengthen nonprofit capacity and improve humanitarian coordination through innovative digital solutions. The consultancy, advertised through ReliefWeb, is expected to run for one year, with responsibilities spanning the implementation of the AI Accelerator for Nonprofits and the Digital Hub for Humanitarian Emergency Coordination. Applications close on 15 July 2026, and proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis. About the Consultancy The Lead Consultant will provide strategic leadership and project management for two concurrent programmes while working closely with NetHope’s Program Manager and Director of Digital Programming. The role focuses on ensuring both initiatives are delivered successfully from project initiation through completion while meeting organisational objectives, donor expectations, and implementation timelines. The consultancy is fully remote, allowing qualified professionals from around the world to apply. Key Responsibilities The successful consultant will oversee every stage of programme delivery, including planning, coordination, quality assurance, and risk management. Core responsibilities include: • Developing comprehensive project plans, work breakdown structures, and strategic implementation roadmaps. • Leading programme design alongside instructional designers, technical specialists, and content developers. • Identifying technical requirements for the Digital Hub and supporting curriculum development for the AI Accelerator. • Coordinating distributed international teams across multiple time zones. • Monitoring programme quality to ensure deliverables align with NetHope standards and industry best practices. • Managing project schedules and proactively addressing implementation delays. • Maintaining risk registers and recommending mitigation strategies throughout programme delivery. The consultant will also ensure that all outputs reflect the operational realities of nonprofit organisations and humanitarian responders. AI Accelerator for Nonprofits: Major Deliverables One of the consultant’s primary responsibilities will be leading the implementation of the AI Accelerator for Nonprofits, an initiative designed to strengthen AI adoption and digital capacity across the nonprofit sector. Key milestones include: • Consultant team onboarding by 15 July 2026. • Development of the training curriculum, learner journey, and assessment framework by October 2026. • Recruitment and participant selection for Cohort 1 in November 2026. • Launch of Cohort 1 in December 2026, beginning a 90-day accelerator programme. • Recruitment and selection of Cohort 2 in March 2027. • Launch of Cohort 2 in April 2027. • A virtual Accelerator Pitch Day in June 2027, showcasing AI-driven nonprofit projects and identifying high-performing participants for mentorship opportunities. • Final programme report and project close-out by June 2027, including lessons learned and recommendations for future programming. Digital Hub for Humanitarian Emergency Coordination The consultant will simultaneously oversee the development of NetHope’s Digital Hub for Humanitarian Emergency Coordination. The project aims to strengthen collaboration among humanitarian organisations through an integrated digital platform. Major deliverables include: • Platform scoping and technology recommendations by August 2026. • Hub architecture design and technical configuration by October 2026. • Pilot launch in November 2026, followed by testing and stakeholder feedback. • Full platform launch in January 2027, supported by onboarding resources for NetHope Members and Connectors. • Project close-out in March 2027, including platform usage analysis, lessons learned, and recommendations for future development. Required Qualifications NetHope is seeking highly experienced professionals capable of managing complex international programmes. Applicants should possess: • At least eight years of experience managing complex, multi-workstream projects within nonprofit, humanitarian, or international development organisations. • Strong knowledge of digital transformation, artificial intelligence readiness, or organisational capacity building. • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. • Experience using recognised project management methodologies such as Agile or PMI/PMP. • Proficiency with project management platforms including Asana, Monday.com, or similar collaboration tools. • Demonstrated experience managing project risks while maintaining quality standards under demanding timelines. Preferred Experience Candidates with additional expertise in the following areas will have an advantage: • Technology platform implementation and digital collaboration tools. • NetHope’s Member and Connector network. • United Nations humanitarian coordination systems. • Grant-funded programme management and donor reporting. • Instructional design and adult learning methodologies. • Digital skills development programmes for nonprofit organisations. Artificial Intelligence Policy NetHope requires all contractors to comply with its responsible Artificial Intelligence policy throughout the consultancy. Contractors will be expected to: • Complete an AI disclosure before beginning the engagement. • Ensure all deliverables demonstrate transparency, accuracy, and ethical AI use. • Disclose how AI tools were used in producing any deliverable if requested. NetHope reserves the right to review AI usage at any stage of the consultancy. Consultancy Terms The consultancy includes the following conditions: • Engagement period: 1 July 2026 – 30 June 2027 • Maximum workload: 30 hours per week • Reporting line: Senior Director, Field and Impact Programs • Fully remote working arrangement • Monthly invoicing in USD • Mandatory OFAC screening before engagement • All work products remain the intellectual property of NetHope Compensation will be determined based on the consultant’s qualifications, location, experience, and overall value for investment.
