The Nivishe Foundation has officially opened applications for Cohort 6 of the Nivishe Mental Health Fellowship, a fully funded, 12-week virtual leadership and advocacy programme designed to equip young changemakers with the skills, tools, and confidence to address mental health challenges at the grassroots level. This fellowship is an excellent opportunity for individuals who care deeply about mental wellbeing and want to play an active role in reducing mental health disparities, promoting awareness, and strengthening community-based solutions. About the Nivishe Mental Health Fellowship The Nivishe Mental Health Fellowship is a structured learning and action-oriented programme that brings together emerging leaders committed to advancing mental health conversations and interventions within their communities. The fellowship runs for 12 weeks, with live virtual sessions held every Saturday, creating a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Through expert-led discussions, peer learning, and practical assignments, fellows gain a deeper understanding of mental health issues while building leadership, advocacy, and community engagement skills. A core component of the fellowship is the implementation of a community action project, ensuring that learning translates into real-world impact. Fellowship Structure and Schedule Programme Duration: 12 weeks Session Days: Every Saturday Time: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM Format: Fully virtual (online) Language: English In addition to live sessions, fellows are expected to dedicate approximately 6 hours per month to assignments, group discussions, and collaborative activities. Nivishe Mental Health Fellowship: Who Should Apply? The Nivishe Foundation is seeking passionate, motivated individuals who are ready to lead and inspire mental health initiatives in their communities. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Be 18–35 years old Demonstrate a strong commitment to mental health advocacy and wellbeing Be currently involved or interested in mental health-related work, such as advocacy, service provision, research, education, or community organizing Hold or aspire to leadership roles (e.g., youth leaders, community organizers, educators, healthcare or social work professionals) Value diversity, inclusion, and open dialogue around mental health Have reliable internet access and the ability to actively participate in virtual sessions Have direct access to a community and the capacity to implement a community action project Applications are strongly encouraged from women, girls, people from marginalized communities, minorities, and persons with disabilities. Selection Criteria Applications will be assessed based on the following key areas: Demonstrated Leadership & Experience: Evidence of past initiatives, roles, or activities showing commitment to mental health or community impact Commitment and Availability: Ability to fully engage in weekly sessions, assignments, and group work over the 12-week period Diversity and Inclusion: The selection process aims to build a cohort representing diverse backgrounds, lived experiences, and perspectives What Selected Fellows Can Expect Successful applicants will: Participate in weekly virtual learning sessions over 12 weeks Engage in collaborative discussions with peers and mental health professionals Develop and implement a community-based mental health action project Strengthen leadership, advocacy, and communication skills Join a growing network of mental health changemakers across different communities Funding and Important Notes The fellowship is fully funded, and no participation fees are required Please note that the Nivishe Foundation does not cover internet costs or personal expenses related to participation Fellows must be proficient in English, as all sessions and materials will be delivered in English Application Timeline Applications Open: 12 January 2026 Applications Close: 22 January 2026 Early applications are encouraged, as the selection process is competitive.
