Position Details Position: Driver Organization: Ol Pejeta Conservancy Department: Shared Services Location: Nanyuki, Kenya Job Type: Full-Time Application Deadline: 30 September 2026 The successful candidate will support the organization through safe, efficient, and timely transportation services while ensuring compliance with road safety regulations and internal transport procedures. Role Summary The Driver will be responsible for transporting staff, guests, goods, equipment, and materials within and outside the conservancy. The role also includes vehicle maintenance, journey documentation, fuel management, safety compliance, and logistical support. The position requires a high level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to safety, particularly when operating vehicles in diverse environments and supporting conservation activities. Key Responsibilities The selected candidate will undertake a variety of transport and logistics duties, including: Safely transporting employees, visitors, guests, and authorized personnel. Delivering goods, equipment, and materials to designated destinations. Conducting daily vehicle inspections before and after journeys. Reporting vehicle defects, breakdowns, or maintenance requirements. Maintaining accurate logbooks, trip sheets, and transport documentation. Ensuring compliance with traffic laws, organizational policies, and standard operating procedures. Managing fuel usage records and reporting any discrepancies. Ensuring proper loading, securing, and transportation of equipment and supplies. Maintaining assigned vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition. Reporting accidents, incidents, vehicle damage, or security concerns immediately. Coordinating with supervisors and relevant departments regarding transport schedules and vehicle availability. Adhering to occupational health and safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment where necessary. The Driver may also perform additional duties assigned by management in support of the conservancy’s operations. Eligibility Requirements Applicants must meet the minimum educational and licensing requirements specified by the conservancy. Candidates should possess: A minimum O-Level Certificate or equivalent qualification. A valid and current driving licence covering Classes B, C, and D. Applicants with Classes E and G licences will have an added advantage. Holders of a Class F driving licence are also encouraged to apply. Defensive driving certification and vehicle maintenance training will be considered advantageous. Experience Required Applicants must demonstrate: At least five years of continuous driving experience using the relevant vehicle classes. Proven experience operating vehicles safely and responsibly in professional environments. Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and road safety practices.
