One Acre Fund is inviting applications for a Graphic Designer (Fixed-Term) position in Nairobi, Kenya. The opportunity is designed for an experienced and independent graphic designer who can support a busy, impact-driven design team by producing high-quality visual materials for farmers, social media, organisational communications, and country programmes. The successful candidate will independently manage assigned design portfolios covering two to three countries, working closely with stakeholders to develop creative concepts, manage projects, and deliver print and digital materials that meet professional and brand standards. About One Acre Fund Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund is an agricultural organisation supporting smallholder farmers across Africa. The organisation provides farmers with agricultural inputs, tree seedlings, accessible credit, agronomic training, and other services designed to improve productivity, income, and resilience. One Acre Fund operates across multiple African countries and has a large workforce comprising professionals from diverse backgrounds. The organisation combines business discipline with a mission-driven approach to improving the livelihoods of smallholder farming communities. About the Graphic Designer Role The Graphic Designer will take responsibility for assigned country and organisational design portfolios and will manage projects with minimal managerial supervision. The role involves working from initial project briefs through concept development, stakeholder review, production, and final delivery. The successful candidate will also assess project requirements and recommend suitable design approaches based on target audiences, communication objectives, and country-specific needs. Key responsibilities include: Producing creative, high-quality and brand-aligned designs. Managing design projects from initial brief through final delivery. Developing materials for farmer-facing communications, reports, newsletters, social media and other organisational needs. Managing design portfolios across two to three countries. Serving as the primary design contact for assigned stakeholders. Coordinating briefs, deliverables, timelines and expectations. Managing multiple projects and prioritising competing deadlines. Ensuring technical accuracy and consistent application of brand standards. Explaining design decisions and responding constructively to stakeholder feedback. Identifying potential project risks, delays and unclear requirements. Contributing to improvements in design templates, workflows and processes. Required Qualifications and Skills Candidates should have substantial professional experience in graphic design and demonstrate the ability to independently manage projects from concept to completion. The technical requirements include: A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. At least five years of professional graphic design experience. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Strong print and digital design capabilities. Knowledge of print production and preparation of production-ready files. Strong understanding of layout, typography, visual hierarchy and brand application. Ability to design for different audiences and communication requirements. Foundational experience in packaging design, including production-ready artwork. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Experience with Canva is an advantage. Candidates should also possess strong project management and stakeholder communication skills. They should be capable of managing multiple priorities, communicating timelines clearly, setting expectations and navigating feedback professionally. Contract, Location and Benefits The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya, and is offered as a two-year fixed-term contract. The successful candidate is expected to start as soon as possible.
