About the Young Professionals Program The Young Professionals Program is designed to support early-career African talent through structured internships and professional development opportunities. Role Overview: Global Data Analyst Intern The Global Data Analyst Intern will work with large and complex datasets across multiple countries. The primary objective of the role is to develop reliable data tools, dashboards, and reporting systems that support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making. The role emphasizes building scalable and sustainable analytics solutions rather than short-term or isolated data tasks. Key Responsibilities Business Intelligence Development Design and maintain dashboards and operational reports Develop scalable data products that support cross-functional decision-making Ensure accuracy, documentation, and long-term usability of BI tools Improve dashboard adoption and user experience over time Data Systems and Reporting Build reliable KPI dashboards for performance monitoring Ensure consistency and clarity in reporting across departments Translate business requirements into structured data solutions Support continuous improvement of data workflows Tech Service Desk Operations Support daily operations of the tech service desk Manage service requests and ensure timely resolution Monitor workflows and track service performance Act as escalation point for critical technical issues Collaboration with Data Engineering Teams Partner with engineers to integrate business logic into data systems Ensure consistency between data models and dashboard outputs Communicate data limitations and maintain metric alignment Support development of centralized semantic data layers Analytical Standards and Knowledge Sharing Contribute to standardization of BI tools and dashboards Promote best practices in data storytelling and visualization Support training and skill development within analytics teams Participate in a community of practice for embedded analysts Required Skills and Qualifications Candidates applying for this internship are expected to have foundational to intermediate experience in data analytics and business intelligence. Essential qualifications include: At least 2 years of experience in data analytics or BI development Strong proficiency in SQL Working knowledge of Python or R (preferred) Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Apache Superset, or Dataiku Understanding of data modeling and semantic layers Ability to design scalable and user-friendly dashboards Strong communication and documentation skills in English Experience translating business needs into analytical solutions Ability to manage projects and work across teams Additional strengths include: Data storytelling and visualization skills Stakeholder engagement and user-focused design thinking Training and knowledge-sharing capabilities Career Development and Learning The internship offers continuous professional development through structured support systems.
