Role Overview The Senior Manager: Communications and Media leads the development and execution of an integrated communications and media strategy across the Foundation and its associated programmes. The role drives: Reputation management Strategic positioning Brand leadership Impact-driven storytelling Working cross-functionally with programme and pillar leads, the Senior Manager ensures alignment between strategy, implementation, and communications output. The position also provides dedicated strategic communications support to the Office of the Executive Chairperson, Monica Geingos, managing thought leadership platforms and brand positioning in her capacity as Executive Chairperson. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Communications Develop and implement a multi-channel communications strategy aligned with organizational priorities Lead annual communications planning linked to the Strategic Initiatives roadmap Translate programme outcomes into compelling narratives for youth, donors, partners, and media Advise leadership on messaging, positioning, and reputational considerations Manage communications budgets and resource allocation Maintain a consistent, youth-centred brand voice 2. Executive Chairperson Communications Provide strategic communications support to the Executive Chairperson Lead brand positioning and thought leadership messaging Develop digital positioning content Coordinate communications for independent engagements and advocacy platforms 3. Programme & Foundation Communications Align programme communications with organizational positioning and impact goals Coordinate communications for launches, partnerships, and initiatives Ensure outputs prioritize impact storytelling over activity-based reporting 4. Media Relations & Reputation Management Serve as primary media liaison Develop proactive media engagement strategies Build relationships with journalists and editors Draft press releases, statements, and advisories Monitor coverage and provide strategic analysis Manage reputational risks and sensitive issues 5. Digital Strategy & Content Lead digital strategy across websites and social platforms Oversee content calendars and messaging consistency Use analytics to inform optimization and audience growth Supervise multimedia content creation Guide teams in adapting programme content for digital formats Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects) 6. Brand & Visual Identity Management Safeguard brand integrity across platforms Oversee branding assets, campaigns, and event materials Provide brand guidance to programme teams and partners Manage procurement of communications-related materials 7. Team Leadership & Capacity Building Lead and mentor communications staff and consultants Strengthen internal communications capacity Provide oversight to the i-BreakFree field team in Northern regions Foster creativity, accountability, and quality standards 8.
