Through this programme, The Innovation Hub continues its commitment to fostering innovation, skills development, and inclusive economic growth by supporting youth readiness for industry and future careers. Overview of the Digital Skills Training Programme The Digital Skills Training Programme is a one-month, fully online course tailored to provide participants with foundational and practical knowledge across critical technology fields. The programme focuses on bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry requirements. Key features of the programme include: Online delivery, enabling flexible participation Industry-relevant curriculum aligned with current market needs Exposure to high-growth digital sectors Skills development aimed at improving employability and career mobility The programme targets young people who are eager to upskill, reskill, or transition into digital and technology-focused career paths. Areas of Learning Participants will be trained in one of the following specialised digital fields, each carefully selected for its relevance and demand within the digital economy. Data Science and Analytics This learning stream focuses on the ability to extract value from data and use insights to inform decision-making. Participants will gain exposure to: Data exploration and interpretation Data cleaning, transformation, and analysis Data visualisation techniques Using data to support intelligent business and operational solutions This stream is suitable for individuals interested in analytics, research, business intelligence, and data-driven roles. Cloud Computing The Cloud Computing stream introduces learners to the infrastructure that powers modern digital services and platforms. Key learning areas include: Understanding cloud infrastructure and services Managing and deploying digital resources Introduction to cloud platforms used in industry Supporting scalable and secure digital systems This stream is ideal for those interested in IT infrastructure, system administration, and cloud-based technologies. Cybersecurity As digital systems expand, so does the need for strong cybersecurity practices. This stream focuses on protecting digital environments and data. Participants will learn about: Fundamentals of cybersecurity and digital risk Protecting digital assets and information systems Online privacy, data protection, and security principles Navigating common cyber threats and vulnerabilities This stream is suited for individuals interested in information security, risk management, and digital safety. Artificial Intelligence (AI) The Artificial Intelligence stream introduces participants to the foundations of AI and its practical applications in innovation and problem-solving. Key focus areas include: Fundamentals of artificial intelligence and machine learning Introduction to generative AI concepts Understanding how AI technologies are applied across industries Leveraging smart technologies for innovation and productivity This stream is ideal for youth interested in emerging technologies, innovation, and future-focused digital careers. Application Process Interested candidates are required to apply by submitting the necessary documentation directly to the relevant Skills Coordinator based on their chosen area of learning. Applicants must submit the following: A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) A clear copy of a valid South African ID A certified copy of a Matric certificate Applications should be directed to the appropriate Skills Coordinator as outlined below.
