Resilience and Humanitarian Programming Manager – Kenya The Resilience and Humanitarian Programming Manager is responsible for leading the design and execution of emergency response programmes and resilience-building initiatives across Kenya. The position strengthens Plan International Kenya’s capacity to respond to crises, mitigate vulnerabilities, and enhance long-term community resilience in alignment with global humanitarian standards. Key ResponsibilitiesThe role oversees humanitarian strategy development, crisis response coordination, and integration of resilience approaches into country programmes. It ensures adherence to global humanitarian norms, leads emergency preparedness planning, and manages partnerships with government agencies, donors, and implementing partners. The manager also supports resource mobilisation efforts and ensures high-quality technical input during programme design. Eligibility CriteriaCandidates must demonstrate strong experience in humanitarian programming, resilience-building, and emergency response operations. A bachelor’s degree in disaster management, humanitarian studies, development studies, or a related field is required, while a master’s degree is considered an added advantage. Applicants must have at least seven years of progressive experience in humanitarian response and resilience programming within INGOs, UN agencies, or comparable organisations. Experience in Kenya or similar contexts is critical. Key RequirementsApplicants must demonstrate: Proven expertise in humanitarian standards, emergency preparedness, and resilience programming. Strong program management and coordination skills. Ability to lead multisectoral humanitarian teams. Excellent stakeholder engagement and donor liaison capabilities. Director of Programs – Kenya The Director of Programs serves as a core member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for shaping Plan International Kenya’s programmatic direction. This strategic role oversees the development, quality assurance, and delivery of all country programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and donor priorities. Key ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Programs leads strategic planning, programme quality assurance, and portfolio oversight. The role ensures that all programmes are evidence-based, gender-transformative, and aligned with child protection and safeguarding standards. Responsibilities include supervising project managers, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and fostering strong partnerships with government bodies, civil society, and development partners. Additionally, the position plays a lead role in resource mobilisation and external representation. Eligibility CriteriaSuitable candidates must hold a degree in international development, social sciences, public policy, or a related discipline. A postgraduate degree is strongly preferred. The organisation requires at least ten years of senior-level program leadership experience within large INGOs, donor agencies, or development organisations. Demonstrated experience in managing multimillion-dollar humanitarian and development portfolios is essential. Key RequirementsCandidates must show: Strong leadership and strategic planning capabilities. Demonstrated experience in high-level donor engagement, including with bilateral and multilateral agencies. In-depth understanding of child rights, gender equality, and protection programming. Risk and Compliance Manager – Kenya The Risk and Compliance Manager ensures that Plan International Kenya maintains strong internal controls, complies with donor regulations, and mitigates operational risks. This role safeguards the organisation’s resources, reputation, and accountability to donors and communities. Key ResponsibilitiesThe position leads the implementation of risk management frameworks, ensures adherence to organisational policies, and conducts compliance reviews across programmes and operational units. It also oversees fraud prevention and detection mechanisms, coordinates internal and external audit processes, and builds staff capacity on compliance standards. The manager works closely with senior leadership to ensure proactive identification and mitigation of strategic, financial, and operational risks. Eligibility CriteriaApplicants should possess a degree in finance, accounting, business administration, risk management, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate at least seven years of experience in risk management, audit, or compliance within international NGOs, private sector organisations, or donor-funded institutions. Key RequirementsApplicants must demonstrate: Strong understanding of donor regulations, including those of USAID, EU, FCDO, and UN agencies. Proven experience in risk assessment, internal audit, and compliance monitoring. High ethical standards, attention to detail, and integrity. Ability to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. Excellent communication and capacity-building skills. Familiarity with safeguarding, fraud management, and anti-corruption standards.
