The Platform for Peace and Humanity is seeking a volunteer Project Coordinator to support its Mediterranean Programme. This role combines research, analysis, outreach, and project coordination to advance food security initiatives in the Mediterranean region. Location: Remote (Home Office)Duration: Minimum 12 months, including one-month probationTime Commitment: 5–10 hours/week, flexibleStart Date: ASAPStatus: Voluntary, unpaid Position Overview The volunteer will report to the Programme Director and engage in: Research and analysis of food security issues in the Mediterranean Outreach to stakeholders and development of partnerships Coordination of project implementation and operational tasks This position is ideal for early- to mid-career professionals in international law, social sciences, international relations, natural resources management, or development studies with a strong interest in food security, human rights, and food systems transformation. Duties and Responsibilities Research and Analysis Design and conduct research, including data collection and analysis, on food security in the Mediterranean Monitor geopolitical developments affecting food security, agri-food policies, and human rights Contribute to publications and strategic documents in consultation with the Programme Director Outreach and Coordination Engage with civil society organizations, universities, international organizations, experts, donors, and other stakeholders Identify funding opportunities and develop partnerships Collaborate with the Programme Director and Platform staff on project development and implementation Minimum Requirements Solid understanding of the Mediterranean region, including socio-political, environmental, and human rights contexts Tertiary qualifications in natural resources management, international relations, law, human rights, development studies, social sciences, food security, or related fields Experience in food security research and/or project coordination Project management skills, including budget development Professional-level English proficiency Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a multicultural environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace Passion for the mission and values of the Platform Desirable Qualifications Experience in stakeholder engagement and resource mobilization Ability to draft policy-oriented content and strategic documents based on scientific sources Fluency in French or Arabic Existing professional networks in the Mediterranean region How to Apply Applicants must submit their CV and cover letter in English.
