Project Coordinator – Climate Transition Programme (Nigeria BOGA Fund Programme) Nigeria Job Market APRI’s Climate Transition Programme is seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator to support the effective coordination and administration of the Nigeria BOGA Fund Programme throughout its implementation period. The role is based in Abuja and embedded within APRI’s Nigeria office. The Project Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring that programme activities, timelines, partnerships, reporting requirements, and deliverables are well-organised and executed in line with the agreed workplan. Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will lead the day-to-day coordination of programme activities across multiple partners, ensuring delivery aligns with established workplans, timelines, budgets, and programme objectives. The role includes coordinating planning processes, facilitating communication among stakeholders, monitoring implementation progress, managing programme risks, and supporting adaptive management strategies. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will support the development and maintenance of strong working relationships with government institutions, development partners, private sector stakeholders, research organisations, and civil society groups. The role also involves monitoring developments within Nigeria’s energy, climate, and economic sectors, as well as the broader political economy landscape, to identify emerging risks and opportunities that may impact programme delivery. The candidate will contribute to strategic communications and visibility efforts by identifying opportunities to highlight programme activities, findings, and achievements. Furthermore, the role requires maintaining oversight of programme performance by tracking progress against agreed indicators and milestones. Required QualificationsApplicants must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as project management, public administration, public policy, economics, international development, climate policy, energy, political science, environmental studies, or a related discipline. A solid understanding of Nigeria’s policy and institutional environment is essential, with knowledge of the country’s climate and energy transition priorities and oil and gas sector considered an advantage. Candidates should also have between three to five years of relevant professional experience supporting or coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder programmes, preferably within climate, energy, economic development, public policy, or international development sectors.
