The RAISEAfrica 2026 programme is now accepting applications from young entrepreneurs and startups working in the renewable energy sector across Africa. This initiative is designed to support innovative solutions that advance sustainable energy access, clean technology adoption, and climate resilience on the continent. RAISEAfrica stands for Renewables Accelerators for Innovative Startups and Entrepreneurs in Africa, and the 2026 edition continues its mission of empowering the next generation of energy innovators. About the RAISEAfrica Programme The programme is implemented by the RES4Africa Foundation, an organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable energy systems across the African continent. It is delivered with the support of major international and industry partners, including: Enel Green Power European Investment Bank (EIB) EY Foundation EDP Renewables Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Together, these partners provide technical expertise, industry access, and strategic support to help startups scale impactful renewable energy solutions. Programme Structure and Benefits RAISEAfrica 2026 offers a structured pre-acceleration and acceleration journey tailored to early-stage startups and entrepreneurs in the renewable energy sector. Selected participants will gain access to: Mentorship and Coaching Participants receive direct guidance from industry experts, helping them refine business models, strengthen technical solutions, and improve market readiness. Networking and Visibility The programme connects startups with key players in the energy ecosystem, including investors, policymakers, and industry leaders, providing international exposure and partnership opportunities. Fundraising Support Startups receive support in preparing for investment, including guidance on pitching, financial planning, and investor engagement. Financial Incentives Each selected startup or entrepreneur receives an entry contribution of €3,000 to support development during the programme. Additionally, participants will compete for the Young Talent of the Year Award, which offers up to €10,000 in additional funding. Who Can Apply? The programme is open to young innovators who are actively developing renewable energy solutions for African markets. Eligibility criteria include: Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old Must be working on or developing a renewable energy-focused startup or innovation Solutions should be relevant to the African energy sector Applicants should demonstrate strong entrepreneurial drive and innovation potential The programme is particularly suited for early-stage startups seeking to scale their impact and access global energy networks.
