Overview The Raspberry Pi Foundation is seeking a Programme Manager based in Kenya to support its mission of enabling young people to realise their full potential through computing and digital technologies. The role focuses on managing education programmes, strengthening partnerships, and expanding the reach of digital learning across Kenya. This position is remote, with occasional travel within Kenya and internationally. It is open to applicants eligible to work in Kenya and is offered on a permanent, full-time, part-time, or flexible basis. Role Purpose Working alongside the Country Manager for Kenya, the Programme Manager will oversee a substantial portfolio of computing education programmes operating in both school and community environments. These programmes include coding clubs, curriculum deployment, AI literacy initiatives, and youth technology showcases. The successful candidate will be responsible for scaling these activities, enhancing programme quality, and deepening engagement with partners ranging from NGOs to government agencies. Key Programme Areas The Foundation operates several initiatives central to the role: Code Club NetworkThe Foundation partners with over 50 mission-aligned non-profit organisations worldwide to deliver free coding clubs. In Kenya, the Programme Manager will focus on expanding this network by onboarding new NGOs, schools, and county governments, enabling more young people to explore coding and digital creation. Computing Curriculum and Educator Capacity BuildingThe Foundation has developed an extensive 500-hour computing curriculum informed by global research on effective computing education. The Programme Manager will help adapt and implement this curriculum within Kenya, building partnerships with government and education institutions to ensure local relevance and sustainability. AI Literacy and Classroom ResourcesFree classroom resources for learners aged 11 to 14 help students develop foundational knowledge in artificial intelligence and machine learning. These materials, contextualised for Kenya, support cross-curricular learning and are based on original research into AI concepts and pedagogy. Coolest ProjectsThis annual global celebration showcases young digital creators and their innovations. The Programme Manager will support participation from Kenya, ensuring visibility and excitement around youth-led technology projects. Responsibilities The Programme Manager will be responsible for the full cycle of programme and partnership management. Key duties include: Managing partnerships end to end, from planning to implementation, while supporting partners to deliver high-quality learning experiences. Working with the Impact team to strengthen monitoring and evaluation processes and applying insights to improve programme outcomes. Producing high-quality reporting on progress, identifying risks, opportunities, and improvement areas, and advising on partnership renewals. Expanding adoption of Raspberry Pi Foundation programmes across Kenya, including growing the number of self-supported Code Clubs and schools using the computing curriculum. Leading grant management processes from prospecting and assessing eligibility to awarding grants and supporting compliance. Building and maintaining communities of volunteers, educators, and partners through learning sessions, networking, and resource sharing. Supporting improvements in onboarding experiences, user journeys, tools, and partner support processes by collaborating with internal teams. Contributing content to newsletters, social media, and digital channels to highlight programme impact. Representing the Foundation at regional and international events and strengthening the organisation’s brand presence in Kenya. Experience and Attributes Applicants are expected to demonstrate: Experience managing educational programmes, preferably in computing education, with strong coordination and organisational abilities. Excellent communication and partnership management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with NGOs, community organisations, and government actors. Grant management experience, including screening, contracting, and reporting. A background in scaling volunteer-led or government-supported programmes, ideally within African education systems. Experience designing and facilitating training, coaching, or support sessions for educators and partner organisations. Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to guide improvement. Availability to travel within Kenya and occasionally to the UK.
