Location: Nairobi, KenyaDepartment: Nairobi OfficeGrade: 5.0Gross Salary: KES 165,088Reports to: Manager, CommunicationsClosing Date: Rolling basis (advert remains open until filled)Supervision: None About RefugePoint Founded in 2005, RefugePoint partners with refugees to access durable, life-changing solutions Works across: Host Country Solutions (HCS) – supporting refugees to reach stability and self-reliance Third Country Solutions (3CS) – resettlement and complementary pathways Has supported: 140,000+ refugees referred for resettlement or other pathways Thousands of refugees to rebuild livelihoods and self-sufficiency Operates using three approaches: Direct services Field building Systems change Global team of 115+ staff Organisational Values Refugee-centred – elevating refugee voices and leadership Anti-racist & anti-colonial Equity-focused Trauma-informed Evidence-informed practice Collaborative Position Summary Responsible for capturing and producing high-quality storytelling content Focuses on: Photography Videography Interviews Audio storytelling Content used across: Website Social media Reports Development and fundraising campaigns Supports branding consistency and showcases RefugePoint’s HCS and 3CS work Key Responsibilities 1. Writing & General Communications Collect and document client and staff stories Draft content for: Social media Website campaigns Bulletins Annual and quarterly reports Support reporting for the Urban Refugee Protection Program (URPP) Conduct monthly home visits to clients for story documentation Coordinate interviews, draft final stories, and submit content with visuals Maintain strong relationships with Nairobi programme teams Track refugee resettlement departures and post-departure updates 2. Social Media & Website Support Collaborate with Digital Communications Officer on: Reels YouTube Shorts Photo quotes Voice notes Contribute ideas to improve social media performance Upload and update website content and staff bios 3. Video & Photography Photograph and edit images of: RefugePoint clients Staff Events Film and edit: Short-form and long-form videos Draft voice-over scripts and coordinate recordings Supervise transcription and translation of audiovisual materials Manage and maintain communications equipment Organise and manage the communications image library Ensure consent forms/releases are properly documented 4. Event Documentation & Training Document trainings, conferences, and organisational events Support internal teams with communications requests Assist in training staff on branding and content standards 5. Branding & Collateral Support quality assurance of branded materials (e.g., T-shirts) Track and manage collateral inventory Ensure consistent branding during events and activities 6.
