Overview RefugePoint is seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Senior Officer, Graphic Designer to join its Communications team based in Nairobi, Kenya. This role plays a critical part in visually communicating RefugePoint’s mission, impact, and stories through compelling, accessible, and brand-aligned design across print and digital platforms. The Senior Officer, Graphic Designer will lead the design process for major organizational publications, including annual and quarterly reports, impact data visualizations, and web design updates. The role will also support fundraising, advocacy, and outreach efforts by producing high-quality visual assets that translate complex data, programmatic work, and human stories into engaging visuals for diverse audiences. This is a Grade 7/0 position with a gross monthly salary of KES 236,282. Shortlisting will be conducted on a rolling basis until a suitable candidate is identified. Organizational Values RefugePoint’s work is grounded in core values that guide all aspects of its operations: Refugee-Centered: Elevating refugee voices and leadership in decision-making Anti-Racist and Anti-Colonial: Actively addressing systemic inequities rooted in racism and colonialism Equity-Focused: Strengthening fairness in humanitarian systems and service delivery Trauma-Informed: Integrating mental health and psychosocial support for clients and staff Evidence-Informed: Applying research, practitioner expertise, and lived experience Collaborative: Engaging in partnerships to address urgent and complex challenges Key Responsibilities The Senior Officer, Graphic Designer will be responsible for the following core functions: Leading the end-to-end design process for annual and quarterly organizational reports Designing marketing and communications materials such as one-pagers, brochures, infographics, social media graphics, email visuals, and digital advertisements Producing design assets for events and fundraising initiatives, including invitations, signage, banners, swag, and promotional materials Maintaining and enforcing RefugePoint’s visual identity across all platforms Translating impact data and complex information into accessible visual narratives and data visualizations Collaborating closely with Communications, Programs, Development, and other teams to align design outputs with strategic goals Developing creative concepts and executing them using industry-standard design tools Adapting designs for web, social media, email, and print formats while meeting accessibility and technical standards Managing and organizing digital design assets, templates, and visual libraries Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The successful candidate will demonstrate strengths in the following areas: Design and Technical Expertise Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva Strong experience creating data visualizations for non-technical audiences Expertise in both print and digital design, including file preparation for production Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy Brand and Storytelling Ability to apply brand guidelines while maintaining creativity and innovation Strong visual storytelling skills rooted in ethical representation Sensitivity when working with content related to displaced and marginalized communities Collaboration and Communication Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams Clear communication of design concepts and rationale Openness to feedback and iterative design processes Project and Workflow Management Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Experience maintaining digital asset libraries and reusable templates Qualifications and Requirements Legal eligibility to live and work in Kenya Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum of three years of professional graphic design experience A strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in branding, layout, and visual storytelling High attention to detail and commitment to quality Police clearance certificate required prior to contract issuance VISIT OFFICIAL WEBSITE TO APPLY For more opportunities such as these please follow us on Facebook, Instagram , WhatsApp, Twitter, LinkedIn and Telegram Disclaimer: Global South Opportunities (GSO) is not the hiring organization.
