Internship Overview This internship is designed for proactive and creative individuals who are passionate about communications and social impact. Interns will play a key role in shaping how SEED Madagascar presents its work to a global audience, helping to amplify stories of community-led change. Location: Remote (open worldwide) Time Zone: East Africa Time Duration: 6 months (extendable) Commitment: Flexible, approximately 1–2 days per week Type: Voluntary (unpaid) Key Responsibilities The Communications Assistant Intern will support a variety of content and communications activities, including: Planning and drafting engaging, platform-specific content for social media Managing the Stitch Sainte Luce Instagram account Writing and editing blog posts, newsletters, and other communications materials Creating visual content using Canva in line with brand guidelines Producing short-form video content using CapCut for platforms like TikTok and Instagram Monitoring and reporting on social media performance metrics (KPIs) Organizing and curating images from SEED’s media library for digital use Developing a deep understanding of SEED’s programmes to communicate impact effectively Interns may also take on additional tasks as directed by the Communications Coordinator or Media and Communications Officer. Skills and Qualifications This role is ideal for students or early-career professionals seeking to build experience in communications and international development. Essential qualifications and skills include: Currently studying or holding a degree in media and communications, international development, or a related field Experience managing social media platforms Strong writing, editing, and communication skills Ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences Familiarity with brand guidelines and content standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience using Canva and video editing tools like CapCut Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines Personal attributes: Creative, proactive, and resourceful Comfortable working both independently and within a team Able to perform under pressure and manage multiple tasks Committed to SEED Madagascar’s mission and values Learning Opportunities This internship provides a valuable platform to gain practical experience in: Digital storytelling and content strategy Social media management and analytics Visual branding and design Communications within the international NGO sector Interns will leave with a portfolio of real-world work and a deeper understanding of how communications support development initiatives.
