Available SAHRC Job Opportunities The SAHRC is recruiting for the following positions: 1. Human Rights Officer – Eastern Cape Provincial Office Position Type: PermanentLevel: DPSA Level 8 Salary:R397,116 per year (basic salary) Role Overview:The Human Rights Officer will support the Commission’s work in promoting and protecting human rights in the province. The role typically involves investigating complaints, conducting research, community engagement, and supporting advocacy initiatives related to human rights issues. 2. Intake Officer – Western Cape Provincial Office Position Type: PermanentLevel: DPSA Level 8 Salary:R397,116 per year (basic salary) Role Overview:The Intake Officer serves as the first point of contact for individuals lodging complaints with the Commission. The role involves assessing complaints, recording cases, providing guidance to complainants, and ensuring that matters are directed to the appropriate departments for investigation. 3. Human Rights Monitor – Limpopo Provincial Office Position Type: Contract position (until 31 March 2027) Salary:R23,442.69 per month (all-inclusive package) Role Overview:Human Rights Monitors assist the Commission in monitoring, documenting, and reporting human rights conditions in communities. The role may involve fieldwork, data collection, research, and supporting investigations related to human rights violations. Application Requirements Candidates applying for these positions must demonstrate a strong commitment to human rights and public service. While specific qualifications may vary by role, applicants are generally expected to have: Relevant academic qualifications in law, social sciences, public administration, or related fields Strong communication and analytical skills Knowledge of South Africa’s constitutional and human rights frameworks The ability to work independently and within a team environment Computer literacy and administrative competence Applicants may also be required to undergo competency assessments and security clearance procedures during the recruitment process.
