Key Responsibilities The researcher will be expected to contribute to multiple aspects of programme delivery, including producing written analysis, coordinating project activities, and presenting research findings to diverse audiences. They will also assist in organising workshops and events aimed at strengthening dialogue between policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders in the climate finance ecosystem. A core component of the role involves monitoring developments in global and regional climate finance systems, including emerging issues related to adaptation funding, mitigation finance flows, and loss and damage mechanisms. The researcher will also conduct stakeholder mapping and maintain engagement with relevant actors across Africa and beyond. Fundraising support is another key responsibility, requiring the identification of funding opportunities and assistance in proposal development to expand the programme’s research impact. Required Qualifications and Experience Applicants are expected to hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as climate finance, political science, political economy, economics, climate policy, or energy policy. A minimum of three to five years of professional experience in related research or policy work is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to produce high-quality policy research and analytical outputs. Experience in fundraising or proposal development is considered an advantage. The role also requires familiarity with African regional policy landscapes and established networks within climate finance or related fields. The ability to work collaboratively across teams and engage effectively with stakeholders is considered a key competency.
