Teach For All is seeking a Lead Designer to strengthen its global brand presence and visual communications. This remote position offers an opportunity for a creative and versatile graphic designer to contribute to a global education movement that aims to expand opportunity for children around the world. The role is open to professionals based in multiple countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania, including South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Spain, India, Singapore, Australia, and others. The successful candidate will help shape and maintain the organization’s visual identity while supporting teams across the international network. About the Role The Lead Designer will play a central role in maintaining and evolving the visual brand of Teach For All. The position involves creating high-quality design materials across multiple platforms and formats while ensuring brand consistency across all communications. Success in the role will involve: Delivering compelling visual materials that resonate with global audiences Maintaining strong brand consistency across design outputs Demonstrating creativity, innovation, and attention to detail Supporting teams across the organization with professional design expertise The Lead Designer will report to the Head of Brand and Design and collaborate with colleagues working in communications, learning design, events, and digital platforms. About the Communications and Experiences Team The Communications and Experiences team at Teach For All focuses on building meaningful connections across its global network. The team works to communicate the organization’s mission and impact through storytelling, design, events, digital platforms, and learning experiences. Their work spans multiple areas, including: Event design and experiences Learning resources and digital platforms Brand development and visual storytelling Communication campaigns and promotional materials Video production and multimedia storytelling Within this environment, the Lead Designer will serve as the primary designer for the organization, collaborating with teams across multiple time zones. Key Responsibilities The Lead Designer will oversee a variety of creative and technical design tasks that support the organization’s communication and brand strategy. Design Project Execution Core design responsibilities include: Designing pitch decks, presentations, and proposal materials Styling and refining staff-created presentations Designing reports, documents, and editorial layouts Creating physical branded materials, including event signage, promotional items, and merchandise Developing digital assets for social media and external promotion Supporting video production with graphic elements and design assets Designing email templates and visual content for mass mailings Creating infographics and visualizations to communicate complex information The designer will also respond to new design needs as they emerge across the organization. Design Concept Development The role also includes conceptual work to shape the visual identity of initiatives and campaigns. Key tasks include: Creating visual identities for global campaigns and initiatives Designing branding and graphics for virtual and in-person events Developing layouts and visual elements for website pages and digital platforms Designing and theming event websites using third-party platforms Supporting the creation of visual identities for new organizational initiatives Brand Systems and Asset Management Maintaining the organization’s design systems and resources is an important part of the role. Responsibilities include: Developing and maintaining brand templates and design guidelines Training staff to effectively use templates and brand resources Providing feedback on staff-produced materials to ensure brand consistency Maintaining a well-organized library of design assets and files Researching and testing new design tools and technologies Required Qualifications Candidates applying for the Lead Designer role should possess significant experience across multiple areas of graphic design and digital media. Key requirements include: Minimum of 5 years of professional design experience Experience designing across multiple mediums, including presentations, social media graphics, reports, branding materials, and digital assets Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator Experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office tools for document and presentation design Familiarity with Canva and other digital design platforms Basic web design knowledge, including HTML, CSS, and UX principles Understanding of typography, layout design, and photo editing A degree in art, design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is also expected. Additional Skills and Attributes The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following qualities: Strong creative thinking and visual storytelling skills Knowledge of the current digital and social media design landscape Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects Ability to incorporate feedback from diverse stakeholders Strong ownership and initiative in managing projects independently Sensitivity to diverse cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives Professional fluency in written and spoken English Candidates should also demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of Teach For All.
