Description

The World Food Forum (WFF) Youth Assembly, led by the Youth Policy Board (YPB), is a year-round, open, inclusive, and structured platform that enables young people to co-create, deliberate, and contribute to policy discussions on agrifood systems. The Youth Assembly brings together young individuals, youth-led and youth-focused organizations, and youth constituencies from around the world to develop joint recommendations and youth-led solutions that inform intergovernmental processes and translate into concrete programmatic actions. For the 2026 cycle, the WFF Youth Assembly will convene a series of Thematic Youth Assembly sessions and consultations aimed at addressing critical global challenges and advancing agrifood systems transformation through youth leadership. 2026 Thematic Focus Areas Thematic Youth Assembly sessions and consultations in 2026 will be organized around the following eleven priority themes: Biodiversity Bioeconomy Climate Change Desertification, Land Degradation and Drought Fisheries and Aquaculture Forestry Livestock Nutrition Water Management Young Women’s Empowerment Resilience These themes reflect pressing global priorities and provide a framework for youth-led policy dialogue, innovation, and action. Objective of the Call The objective of this call for applications is to identify and engage global partner organizations with demonstrated expertise in one or more of the above thematic areas to serve as co-organizers of Thematic Youth Assembly sessions and consultations in 2026. Selected Partner Organizations will engage in a maximum of two thematic processes and will work closely with the WFF Youth Assembly Secretariat and YPB members to deliver inclusive, youth-centric sessions and policy-relevant outcomes that contribute to agrifood systems transformation. Background and Rationale To ensure the effectiveness and impact of the Thematic Youth Assembly sessions, the WFF Youth Assembly seeks to institutionalize partnerships with youth-led and youth-focused organizations that bring technical expertise, lived experience, and strong youth engagement practices. Both existing and new partners are encouraged to apply, reinforcing the Assembly’s commitment to collaboration, inclusivity, and shared ownership of outcomes. Scope of Work Under the leadership of the YPB and with support from the Youth Assembly Secretariat, selected Partner Organizations will be expected to contribute to the design, delivery, and follow-up of Thematic Youth Assembly sessions and consultations by: Collaborating on the planning and execution of sessions and consultations related to selected themes Providing thematic expertise, technical knowledge, research insights, and innovative approaches Supporting the design of interactive, inclusive, and youth-centered consultation methodologies Nominating qualified speakers and moderators to contribute expertise and facilitate dialogue Ensuring that discussions, agendas, and outputs reflect youth priorities and perspectives Supporting social media outreach and communications to increase engagement and visibility Assisting in integrating youth-led recommendations into intergovernmental and policy decision-making processes Eligibility Criteria To be eligible, applicant organizations must: Operate at a global or multi-regional level Demonstrate proven expertise and experience in one or more selected thematic areas Have a strong track record of work related to agrifood systems, climate action, biodiversity, development, or related fields Show a clear commitment to youth engagement and youth empowerment Be able to designate members and focal points to collaborate closely with the Youth Assembly Secretariat and YPB Align with the WFF Youth Assembly’s core values of integrity, responsibility, and collaboration, and adhere to the highest ethical standards Terms of Engagement Selected Partner Organizations will be expected to adhere to the following engagement principles: Designation of one primary and one secondary focal point for coordination Sustained participation throughout the 2026 cycle, including planning meetings and consultations Timely and responsive communication with the Secretariat and YPB Contribution to session materials, youth-led recommendations, and summary reports Support for joint representation at relevant events and communication initiatives, as agreed The partnership will run for the full calendar year, concluding in December 2026, after which the Secretariat will assess partner contributions to determine future engagement. Selection Process and Evaluation Criteria Applications will be assessed based on: Global operational reach Relevance and alignment with selected themes Demonstrated expertise and implementation experience Organizational capacity and availability of designated focal points Commitment to youth empowerment Alignment with WFF Youth Assembly values and ethical standards The selection process includes an initial eligibility screening by the Youth Assembly Secretariat, followed by a strategic review by the YPB. Final decisions will be communicated by February 2026. Optional Engagement Opportunities Partner Organizations may also engage with other programmes under the WFF Youth Initiative, including Education, Culture, Local Action, and Innovation. Additional collaborations will be developed jointly and coordinated through the Youth Assembly Secretariat.
