Organisation: The END FundLocation: Nairobi, KenyaWork Type: Part-time | HybridLevel of Effort: Approximately 10 hours per week Background The END Fund is a philanthropic organisation dedicated to the control and elimination of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). Through strategic partnerships, data-driven approaches, and targeted investments, the organisation supports sustainable health solutions that improve outcomes for underserved communities. As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen internal technology and data capabilities, The END Fund is seeking an IT Support Consultant based in Nairobi. This consultancy will provide responsive, hands-on technical support to staff in Nairobi and across the Africa region, complementing existing global managed IT services and cybersecurity providers. Objective of the Consultancy The primary objective of this consultancy is to ensure that END Fund staff have access to reliable, secure, and user-friendly IT support. The consultant will serve as a local point of contact for device support, Google Workspace administration, and end-user troubleshooting while acting as a liaison with the global technology team. Key outcomes include: Properly configured and secure staff devices Well-organised and permissioned Google Drive and Shared Drive environments Timely, trackable, and user-focused technical support Strong coordination between local and global technology functions Scope of Work 1. Device Setup, Configuration, and Lifecycle Support Configure and deploy laptops and peripherals for new and existing staff Ensure operating systems meet security standards, including: Disk encryption Password and screen-lock policies System and user updates Install and configure standard END Fund applications and security tools Support onboarding and secure offboarding of staff devices Perform basic hardware troubleshooting and coordinate vendor repairs Investigate recurring technical issues, document root causes, and implement preventative solutions 2. Google Workspace and Drive Management Manage Google Drive and Shared Drives, including: Consistent folder structures Appropriate access permissions Reduction of unnecessary duplication where feasible Support staff with file-sharing and access issues Provide basic training and “how-to” guidance on: Google Drive Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Meet 3. End-User Support and Ticketing Act as first-line IT support for Nairobi-based staff and nearby time zones Resolve common issues related to: Laptops and peripheral devices Printing Google Workspace usage Use an agreed ticketing system to: Log and track all requests Document communication and resolution Escalate issues to global teams or vendors as needed Maintain clear and timely communication with users on progress and outcomes 4. Coordination with Global Technology and External Providers Work closely with the Director of Technology and Data to ensure: Alignment with global IT policies and standards Appropriate escalation of complex or security-sensitive issues Advance coordination on infrastructure or system changes 5. Documentation, Training, and Reporting Maintain documentation including: Local device inventory Assigned users and device status Key specifications Develop simple internal guides and FAQs for common issues Deliver light-touch training sessions on: Google Drive best practices Safe computing and cybersecurity hygiene Produce concise monthly reports covering: Volume and types of tickets handled Recurring issues Risks and recommended improvements Timeframe and Location Location: Nairobi, Kenya Work Mode: Hybrid (combination of remote and in-person support) Duration: Initial engagement of 3–6 months, with possible extension Level of Effort: Approximately 10 hours per week Deliverables Fully configured and documented devices for assigned staff Google Workspace and Drive environments managed to agreed standards A functional, trackable IT support and ticketing process Monthly activity and issue summary reports Updated local IT inventory and process documentation Reporting and Management Reporting Line: Director of Technology and Data Engagement Structure: Weekly check-ins to review open issues Alignment on priorities and upcoming needs Review of performance and scope adjustments Consultant Profile and Qualifications Required Based in Nairobi with ability to provide on-site support Strong hands-on experience with: Windows and/or macOS device configuration End-user IT support or helpdesk environments Certified Google Workspace Administrator Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate Experience using structured ticketing systems Strong communication skills and service-oriented approach Desirable Experience working with nonprofits or international NGOs Familiarity with IT and cybersecurity best practices, including: MFA Secure password management Patch management Phishing awareness Experience coordinating with global or remote IT teams Proposal Requirements Interested consultants should submit a proposal including: Cover Letter Brief introduction and statement of interest Technical Proposal Relevant experience in device support, Google Workspace, and end-user IT Proposed approach to: Day-to-day support Google Workspace management Ticket logging, tracking, and escalation Tools or systems to be used Financial Proposal Hourly and/or daily rate (KES) Retainer structure, if applicable Overage rates and assumptions Curriculum Vitae Education, certifications, and work history References Contact details for at least three professional references Submission Instructions Email: itsupport@endfund.org Subject Line: IT Support Consultant – Nairobi – [Your Name] Deadline: 9 January 2026 Incomplete or late submissions may not be considered.
