#CERV Gender Equality Call – Open for Submissions The European Union’s #CERV Gender Equality call is now open for submissions, presenting a unique opportunity for organizations, institutions, and initiatives to advance gender equality, women’s empowerment, and inclusive societal policies. This call aims to support the development and implementation of comprehensive measures that ensure women’s full enjoyment of rights, promote gender equality, and address systemic inequalities in workplaces, public life, and media. It encourages innovative, impactful, and sustainable projects that contribute to creating equitable environments for all genders. Objective The primary objective of the #CERV Gender Equality call is to promote policies and interventions that enhance gender equality and support women’s rights. Key areas of focus include work-life balance, equal pay between women and men, gender mainstreaming, women’s empowerment, and reducing societal barriers that perpetuate inequality. The call seeks projects that address structural challenges, implement policy changes, and foster inclusive practices in workplaces, governance, and media. Priority Areas Applicants are required to select one priority area for their project. The four priority areas of the call are designed to target critical dimensions of gender equality and ensure measurable impact: 1. Work-Life Balance and Care ResponsibilitiesProjects in this category should support initiatives that promote equal sharing of care responsibilities between women and men, develop family-friendly workplace policies, and recognize the economic and social value of care sector jobs. Proposals could focus on interventions such as flexible work arrangements, parental leave policies, support for caregivers, awareness campaigns on the value of care work, and programs that address workplace barriers to work-life balance. The objective is to foster equitable participation in both professional and domestic responsibilities while recognizing and valuing care work as essential to societal well-being. 2. Equal Pay and Pay TransparencyThis priority focuses on promoting and implementing the provisions of the EU Pay Transparency Directive. Projects should aim to ensure respect for equal pay for equal work and work of equal value. Initiatives may include awareness campaigns, capacity building for employers, implementation of pay audits, transparency policies, and tools that enable monitoring of pay equity in organizations. The goal is to reduce wage gaps, enhance fairness in compensation structures, and empower women to claim equal economic rights. 3. Equal Participation in Decision-MakingProjects addressing this priority should promote equal participation and representation of women and men in economic and political decision-making processes. Initiatives may include programs that build leadership capacity, mentoring networks, awareness campaigns, advocacy for policy reforms, and initiatives that remove barriers to women’s participation in governance, boards, and executive positions. The aim is to ensure that women have equitable opportunities to influence decision-making in all sectors, thereby fostering inclusive policies and representation at all levels. 4. Tackling Gender Stereotypes in Media and AdvertisingThis priority targets initiatives that challenge and reduce gender-based stereotypes in media, advertising, and public communications. Projects may include campaigns, educational programs, media monitoring, training for media professionals, and content creation that promotes diverse and non-stereotypical portrayals of women and men. The goal is to foster a culture of gender equality in societal narratives and communication channels, thereby influencing perceptions, behaviors, and cultural norms. Funding and Deadline Total Budget: €23 million Application Deadline: 28 April 2026 Who Should Apply The call invites applications from organizations, institutions, NGOs, and initiatives that are actively engaged in advancing gender equality within the EU or in EU-supported projects. Successful applicants should demonstrate technical expertise, experience in project management, and a clear understanding of gender equality challenges relevant to the chosen priority area. Proposals must be evidence-based, innovative, and scalable, offering solutions that create tangible improvements in policy, workplace practices, governance, or societal perceptions. Expected Impact Projects funded under this call will contribute to: Strengthening work-life balance and equitable care responsibilities among men and women. Ensuring transparency in pay and reducing gender-based wage disparities. Increasing women’s representation and participation in economic and political decision-making. Reducing gender stereotypes in media, advertising, and public discourse. Funded initiatives should produce measurable outcomes, contribute to policy development, foster societal change, and provide lessons for replication and scaling across different contexts. Collaboration between stakeholders, including employers, public institutions, civil society, and media organizations, is encouraged to maximize impact. Application Guidelines Applicants should submit detailed project proposals clearly identifying the priority area, objectives, expected outcomes, planned activities, timeline, and budget. Proposals must include monitoring and evaluation plans to measure success and demonstrate the sustainability of project outcomes.
