The Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women is recruiting a Programme Associate to support its Alliance Strengthening and Movement Support (ASMS) programme. This full-time role is based in Bangkok and offers an opportunity to contribute to global human rights advocacy, particularly in the areas of migration, labour, and gender justice. About the Organisation GAATW is a global alliance of over 100 non-governmental organisations across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. The organisation focuses on promoting and protecting the rights of migrants, especially in the context of labour migration and human trafficking. Its work spans three thematic areas: Human Trafficking and Forced Labour Women on the Move Women Workers for Change The International Secretariat coordinates research, advocacy, and member engagement, ensuring that grassroots issues are amplified at global policy levels. Position Overview The Programme Associate will support alliance-building efforts and strengthen collaboration among GAATW members and partners. The role emphasises knowledge sharing, research, and facilitating collective action across social justice movements. Key details: Location: Bangkok, Thailand Contract: Full-time (1 year, renewable) Start Date: 15 June 2026 Deadline: 8 May 2026 (5:00 PM Bangkok time) The role may involve travel within and outside the region. Key Responsibilities Research and Analysis Conduct interviews with member organisations to understand their priorities and challenges Analyse trends in advocacy strategies and movement dynamics Produce summaries and insights from research outputs Communications and Knowledge Sharing Develop visual materials highlighting member work Contribute to content for international human rights observances Support the creation of an online knowledge library Member Engagement and Facilitation Organise and facilitate online learning sessions and discussions Identify relevant themes for collective dialogue Document discussions and support knowledge exchange Representation and Monitoring Represent GAATW in relevant forums and advocacy spaces Participate in monitoring and evaluation of programme impact Support broader programme activities as required Qualifications and Experience Applicants should demonstrate: A degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies, gender studies, or related fields Understanding of migration, human trafficking, and women’s rights issues Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Experience supporting virtual collaboration across time zones Ability to work independently and within diverse teams Commitment to human rights and social justice values Compensation and Benefits The position offers a competitive package based on qualifications and experience, including: Monthly salary of approximately THB 40,000 Provident fund contributions Housing allowance Medical benefits Relocation support (if applicable) One-way airfare reimbursement to Thailand Application Process Interested candidates must submit: Cover letter outlining motivation and alignment with GAATW’s mission Curriculum Vitae (CV) with references Writing sample Applications should be sent to gaatw@gaatw.org with the subject line:“Application – Programme Officer (Alliance Strengthening)” Deadline: 8 May 2026 (5:00 PM Bangkok time) Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
