The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Coordinator, Innovation Implementation to support the execution of innovative programmes across country operations. This full-time, hybrid role is based in multiple locations, including Nairobi, Adjumani, and Abuja. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, IRC operates in over 40 countries, delivering critical support in crisis settings and helping communities recover, rebuild, and thrive. Role Overview The Coordinator will lead the operational implementation of innovations at the country level, ensuring projects transition effectively from design to execution. The role requires strong coordination, problem-solving, and programme management skills to deliver initiatives on time, within budget, and in compliance with organisational and donor requirements. This is a hands-on role suited for professionals experienced in managing complex programmes in humanitarian or development contexts. Key Responsibilities Country-Level Execution Coordinate implementation of innovation projects with country teams Serve as the primary liaison between innovation teams and field offices Ensure clarity on roles, timelines, and deliverables Grant & Budget Management Track budgets and expenditures for innovation grants Ensure compliance with donor requirements and financial guidelines Operational Readiness & Compliance Oversee documentation and approvals, including: MOUs and sub-awards Procurement processes Regulatory and ethical compliance Ensure all requirements are met before and during implementation Planning & Coordination Support development of practical implementation plans Align technical needs with country capacities and timelines Problem Solving Identify operational risks and bottlenecks early Collaborate with teams to resolve issues efficiently Communication & Reporting Maintain regular communication with stakeholders Support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes Required Qualifications Candidates should demonstrate: Experience: 3–6 years in programme management within humanitarian or development sectors Experience in senior roles such as Senior Program Manager or Deputy Director of Programs Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of grants, compliance, procurement, and reporting Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects Core Competencies: Strong organisational and communication skills Solution-oriented and execution-focused mindset Ability to work across global and local teams Other Requirements: Willingness to travel frequently Ability to operate in dynamic and challenging environments Professional Standards All staff at the International Rescue Committee are expected to uphold the IRC Way, which includes: Integrity Service Equality Accountability The organisation enforces strict policies on safeguarding, ethical conduct, and protection from retaliation, ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment.
