This is a strategic and hands-on role for an experienced event professional who thrives in international, mission-driven environments. Internet Society Foundation: About the Role Events are a key communications channel for the Foundation. They help: Engage global communities Showcase impact Build partnerships Amplify strategic priorities The Manager, Global Events will support a portfolio of international convenings, donor events, community gatherings, and hybrid/online events. This role requires strategic alignment, operational excellence, and strong cross-cultural collaboration. Key Responsibilities Strategic Event Planning and Coordination Manage a portion of the global events portfolio Ensure events align with strategic communications priorities Integrate events into broader campaigns and initiatives Maintain annual events calendar and planning frameworks Event Delivery and Operations Manage full event lifecycle from concept to execution Oversee logistics, production, vendor coordination, and registration Prepare timelines, schedules, and briefing materials Coordinate speaker and participant management Manage event budgets and financial oversight Lead use of virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom Events) Stakeholder Engagement Liaise with internal teams, donors, partners, and vendors Coordinate across time zones and cultures Maintain strong relationship management throughout event processes Measurement and Impact Develop post-event reports and evaluations Track performance metrics and engagement indicators Capture lessons learned and recommend improvements Support storytelling and communications outputs Required Experience and Skills 5–7 years of professional experience in event management Experience managing complex global events (in-person, online, hybrid) Background in nonprofit, mission-driven, or international organizations preferred Strong budget management and vendor coordination skills Excellent project management and organizational ability Strong written and verbal English communication skills Experience with virtual event tools (e.g., Zoom Events) Ability to apply branding principles to events Willingness to travel internationally Personal Attributes Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach Detail-oriented and adaptable Culturally aware and collaborative Passionate about connecting people through meaningful experiences Committed to diversity, accessibility, and inclusion What the Foundation Offers Fully remote work (Europe preferred) Generous paid leave and public holidays Professional development funding Volunteer leave to give back to your community Competitive, locally benchmarked compensation Inclusive and global team culture Compensation is based on geographic location and market benchmarks.
