About the Role The Marketing and Communications Manager will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications for Europe and play a key role in supporting conservation efforts across Southeast Europe. The position focuses on: Raising awareness about environmental challenges Influencing policymakers and stakeholders Supporting fundraising and donor engagement The successful candidate will manage communications across multiple countries, working closely with internal teams and external partners in a matrixed, international environment. Key Responsibilities The role involves a broad mix of strategic and operational communications tasks, including: Strategic Communications and Campaigns Develop and implement regional marketing and communications strategies Support conservation campaigns, including freshwater protection and renewable energy initiatives Lead communications for the United for Rivers campaign, a key regional initiative Content Creation and Digital Communications Produce high-quality content for websites, blogs, newsletters, and social media Manage and update digital platforms to ensure engaging and accurate messaging Translate complex environmental and policy topics into accessible content Media and Stakeholder Engagement Build relationships with journalists and media outlets across Southeast Europe Draft press releases and prepare spokespersons for media engagements Support communications for partnerships, events, and campaigns Fundraising and Reporting Support Contribute to donor communications, reports, and presentations Support fundraising efforts through compelling storytelling and data-driven insights Collaboration and Coordination Work with regional and global teams to align messaging and campaigns Coordinate multiple projects across countries and stakeholders Track communications performance and report on outcomes Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a communications generalist with a strategic mindset and strong storytelling ability. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field At least 5 years of relevant professional experience Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Preferred Skills and Experience Experience working in Southeast Europe Proficiency in English, Serbian, and Croatian (additional languages like Macedonian or Albanian are a plus) Experience in media relations and digital communications Familiarity with environmental, policy, or technical topics Experience supporting fundraising communications Candidates should also demonstrate: Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities Work Environment and Contract Details This position is offered as a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension.
