Four Research Associate Positions Available The Nehru Centre is expanding after two years of operations and is establishing a new centre in Hyderabad while strengthening its existing New Delhi centre. The organisation is recruiting: 2 Research Associates – Hyderabad 2 Research Associates – New Delhi Research Associates will be expected to undertake detailed research and transform complex information into accessible and engaging material for public communication and awareness. Key Responsibilities Successful candidates will contribute to research and public-facing communication across a range of political, economic and social topics. Responsibilities include: Conducting rigorous qualitative research across historical, economic, political and social issues. Reading, analysing, interpreting and synthesising complex data, reports, policy documents and research papers. Translating research findings into clear, engaging and accurate content for social media and public outreach. Producing fact-based responses to misinformation and misleading narratives using credible evidence. Fact-checking information and verifying sources. Preparing comprehensive research briefs, background notes and talking points. Identifying relevant data points, trends and insights for diverse audiences. Monitoring contemporary political developments and providing timely research inputs. The roles therefore combine research, analysis, writing, fact-checking and public communication, making them relevant to candidates interested in policy research and public affairs. Who Can Apply? Applicants are expected to have a Master’s degree in one of the following fields: History Political Science Economics Public Policy Sociology A related discipline The Nehru Centre is also seeking candidates with strong research, analytical and critical-thinking abilities. Other important requirements include: Strong writing and communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Commitment to factual accuracy. Ability to analyse and communicate complex information clearly. For the Hyderabad positions, knowledge of Telugu is an advantage but is not mandatory. Research and Public Communication Focus The Research Associate positions appear designed for candidates who can work across both research and communication functions. In addition to conducting research and analysing academic and policy materials, associates will be expected to turn their findings into content that can be understood by wider audiences. This includes producing social-media content, research briefs, background notes and talking points, as well as identifying evidence that can help audiences understand contemporary developments.
