The NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Greater Manchester (ARC-GM) is inviting expressions of interest for a new role: Research Inclusion Lead. The Research Inclusion Lead will join the ARC-GM Executive Group, providing strategic leadership to embed inclusive and equitable approaches across the entire collaboration. This isn’t a peripheral advisory function — it’s a seat at the executive table, working directly alongside researchers, public contributors, and partner organisations. The successful applicant will help shape and deliver ARC-GM’s Research Inclusion Strategy, with responsibilities spanning: Tackling barriers to participation in research Strengthening workforce inclusion across the collaboration Supporting research that better reflects the diverse communities of Greater Manchester NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Greater Manchester (NIHR ARC-GM): Who Should Apply? Applications are welcome from colleagues employed by ARC-GM partner organisations, with experience in one or more of the following areas: Applied research Community engagement Public involvement Equality and inclusion Workforce development Related fields The ideal candidate is described as an experienced leader who is genuinely passionate about making research more inclusive ensuring everyone has a fair opportunity to take part in, contribute to, and benefit from research. What’s the Time Commitment? The role is funded for up to 0.2 FTE (roughly one day a week), and is specifically designed to sit alongside an existing role meaning applicants don’t need to give up their current position to take this on. It’s available through 31 March 2031, offering genuine long-term continuity rather than a short-term appointment. What Do You Need to Submit?
