Request for Proposals (RFP): Africa Regional Office (ARO) Power and Climate ContractorThe Rockefeller FoundationProposal Deadline: January 19, 2026 Purpose and Objective The Rockefeller Foundation is seeking qualified vendors to provide implementation, coordination, and project management support to its Power & Climate (P&C) team and Africa Regional Office (ARO). The contractor will support high-impact initiatives focused on energy access, capacity building, and Africa’s energy transition, contributing to scalable solutions that improve livelihoods, create jobs, and reduce carbon emissions across the continent. Overview RFP Manager: Joe Curtin, Vice President, Power & Climate Submission Email: procurement@rockfound.org Reporting Locations: New York, USA (Power & Climate) Nairobi, Kenya (Africa Regional Office) Anticipated Contract Period: April 15, 2026 – April 30, 2027 Level of Effort: Up to 30 hours per week Background The Rockefeller Foundation leverages science, innovation, and technology to expand opportunity for people locked out of prosperity. The Foundation is uniquely positioned to advance an inclusive energy transition in Africa, aiming to: Expand access to reliable electricity for hundreds of millions of people Improve economic opportunity and job creation Avoid billions of tons of carbon emissions The selected contractor will bring Africa-specific energy sector expertise and strong experience managing complex stakeholder ecosystems across governments, development partners, private sector actors, and civil society. Coordination and Project Management Support Support preparation for high-level regional and global engagements Assist in building strategic partnerships and mobilizing capital Strengthen coordination between regional and global teams Support Africa-facing Power & Climate engagements Draft internal briefs, updates, and project documentation Key Project Support Projects may evolve but are expected to include: Mission 300 Support operationalization and sustained political engagement Manage campaign, convening, and communications milestones African School of Regulation (ASR) Advise on strategy, business planning, and alignment with Foundation priorities Support fundraising and partnership development Assist implementation of ASR’s three-year strategy Draft presentations, briefs, and support ad-hoc engagements Africa Energy Futures Initiative (AEFI) Support partnership development with universities and hub institutions Facilitate connections with funders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders Clean Cooking Provide on-the-ground project management support in Kenya Strengthen coordination with Mission 300 and Regenerative School Meals initiatives Expected Deliverables Strategic Briefs and Recommendations outlining analysis, options, and actions Monthly Progress Reports detailing activities, outputs, challenges, and next steps Additional deliverables as defined by the Power & Climate and ARO teams Desired Qualifications Required Africa-focused energy sector experience Extensive high-level stakeholder management experience Preferred Technical expertise in energy access, renewables, and energy transition Experience across African regulatory and market environments Proven project management and reporting skills Strong written communication and presentation capabilities Commitment to inclusive practices, gender equity, and local workforce development Proposal Submission Requirements Proposals must be submitted as one PDF (maximum 10 pages, excluding cover and contents) and include: Organizational Background and Qualifications Proposed Methodology and Approach to scope of work, including risk considerations Fee Proposal, including hourly rates and cost estimates At least three professional references from similar projects Key RFP Dates RFP Issued: December 11, 2025 Intent to Bid & Questions Due: December 19, 2025 Responses to Questions Issued: January 12, 2026 Proposals Due: January 19, 2026 Evaluation Completed: February 6, 2026 Interviews (if required): February 9–13, 2026 Selection Announcement: February 27, 2026 Terms and Conditions (Summary) The Foundation reserves the right to modify, negotiate, or cancel the RFP No reimbursement for proposal preparation costs Submissions become the property of the Foundation Responses constitute a binding offer for 180 days Governing law: State of New York Strict confidentiality, conflict of interest disclosure, and privacy requirements apply Accessibility and Sustainability The Rockefeller Foundation is committed to: An accessible and inclusive procurement process Partnering with suppliers aligned with ethical, sustainable, and responsible practices Achieving Net Zero operations by 2040 across its value chain VIEW THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) HERE For more opportunities such as these please follow us on Facebook, Instagram , WhatsApp, Twitter, LinkedIn and Telegram Disclaimer: Global South Opportunities GSO) is not the hiring organization.
