Call for Applications – Deadline: 1 December 2025 The TrustLAB at the DCU Institute for Business & Society has launched the inaugural International Research Fellowship Scheme, designed to support and recognize outstanding early- to mid-career researchers exploring the critical and timely topic of trust. The fellowship seeks to strengthen global research collaboration, enhance theoretical and practical understanding of trust in organizations and society, and build long-term partnerships between fellows and TrustLAB members. Fellowship Overview The TrustLAB International Research Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for emerging scholars to contribute to world-class research on trust, supported by a vibrant academic network at Dublin City University (DCU). Over the two-year period, selected fellows will collaborate with leading experts, engage in interdisciplinary projects, and participate in scholarly activities that advance both academic and applied knowledge in trust studies. The fellowship will run from January 2026 to December 2027. Objectives of the Fellowship The TrustLAB International Research Fellowship is guided by three primary objectives: Recognition: To identify and honour early- to mid-career researchers who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to the study of trust across disciplines. Research Advancement: To support innovative, high-quality research that expands theoretical, empirical, or methodological insights into trust. Collaboration: To foster meaningful, long-term relationships between fellows and TrustLAB researchers, encouraging joint publications, workshops, and knowledge exchange. Fellowship Award and Benefits The selected TrustLAB International Research Fellow will receive: A two-year appointment (January 2026 – December 2027) as an International Research Fellow at TrustLAB. A total stipend of €4,000 over the fellowship period to support approved research and travel activities. Access to DCU’s academic ecosystem, including TrustLAB’s multidisciplinary research community and the broader network of the DCU Institute for Business & Society. Opportunities to collaborate on research published in leading international journals, such as the Academy of Management Journal, Computers in Human Behavior, Health Services Research, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, and Organization Science. The fellowship is designed to be primarily research-focused, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and publication excellence. Fellowship Commitments Successful fellows are expected to engage actively in TrustLAB’s ongoing research and community activities. The commitments include: A mandatory two-week visit to Dublin within the first six months of the appointment. During this visit, fellows will deliver a research seminar and lead a collaborative workshop to explore research synergies with TrustLAB faculty. Active participation in collaborative projects throughout the two-year term, including: Regular attendance at online TrustLAB meetings (approximately one hour every six weeks). Participation in biannual fellowship review meetings with the TrustLAB lead. Submission of at least one conference paper and one journal article co-authored with TrustLAB members during the fellowship period. Fellows are encouraged to contribute to the TrustLAB research environment, mentor early-career researchers, and represent TrustLAB at relevant international academic events. Eligibility Criteria The TrustLAB International Research Fellowship is open to scholars who meet the following criteria: Hold a PhD awarded between 2015 and 2023, corresponding to 2 to 10 years post-PhD experience at the time of application. Demonstrate a strong research record or emerging contribution in the field of trust, including published work, conference presentations, or applied research. Show clear potential to engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary research with TrustLAB members. Have a proposed research agenda that aligns with TrustLAB’s focus areas and the broader mission of the DCU Institute for Business & Society. Researchers from all disciplines—such as management, psychology, sociology, information systems, public policy, and communication—are encouraged to apply, provided their work centers on understanding trust in organizational or societal contexts. Application Process Applicants must submit a concise two-page application document to TrustLAB by 1 December 2025. The application should include the following information: Name and Current Position, including institutional affiliation and academic title. Link to Google Scholar or ORCID profile, demonstrating research output and citations. Overview of current and recent research projects or papers in progress. Summary of contributions to trust research to date, highlighting key findings or innovations. Outline of proposed research to be pursued during the fellowship period. Description of potential collaboration with TrustLAB faculty and how the applicant intends to contribute to the TrustLAB research community. Applications should be well-structured, concise, and demonstrate the applicant’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to TrustLAB’s mission.
