Key employment details include: Salary: $78,736 per annum (pro rata) Paid leave: 20 days annually (pro rata) Health insurance: 80% of medical and dental costs covered Work schedule: Approximately 37 hours net per week Role Responsibilities and Core Functions UN General Assembly Advisors support Ireland’s diplomatic engagement across various UN committees and policy areas. Working under the supervision of senior diplomatic staff, they contribute to policy development, negotiation processes, and coordination efforts. Essential requirements include: A relevant academic qualification Strong understanding of the United Nations system Knowledge of multilateral diplomacy and international relations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical and research capabilities Ability to synthesise complex information clearly and concisely Strong organisational and time management skills Ability to work independently and within a team Desirable Experience While not mandatory, the following will strengthen an application: Previous experience working with or within the United Nations Familiarity with Ireland’s foreign policy priorities Knowledge of the Department of Foreign Affairs (Ireland) Experience in international organisations or diplomatic settings Working Conditions and Employment Terms Successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contractual basis under US labour laws.
