The United Nations Development Programme is inviting applications for the position of Social Media Video Production Intern under its Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy. About the Opportunity The internship sits within the Digital Communications Studio (DCS), a team responsible for supporting the visual and digital storytelling efforts of UNDP’s global communications work. The selected intern will work closely with the Social Media Specialist and support the production of engaging multimedia content for campaigns, international observances, events, and advocacy initiatives. Key Responsibilities The Social Media Video Production Intern will support a variety of digital communications tasks, including: Producing social media videos from scripting to editing and captioning Assisting with editing and formatting multimedia content for different digital platforms Creating engaging social media copy in English Supporting campaigns, multimedia storytelling, and awareness initiatives Researching and curating stories, graphics, images, and videos for digital platforms Assisting in the preparation of Trello boards and content planning workflows Supporting multilingual social media content production where required The role is designed for individuals interested in digital media, storytelling, social impact communication, and international development. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must meet at least one of the following educational requirements: Be enrolled in a graduate degree programme Be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s degree Have graduated within the last year from a recognized university programme Relevant academic backgrounds may include: Communications Media Studies Journalism Digital Marketing International Relations Graphic Design Multimedia Production Related disciplines Skills and Experience Required UNDP is seeking candidates with strong creative and communication abilities. Preferred qualifications include: Excellent English writing and editing skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Attention to detail and creative thinking Familiarity with multimedia production tools such as: Adobe Creative Suite Canva Other editing and design platforms Interest in global development and United Nations work Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments Previous experience in social media management, video editing, or digital communications is considered an advantage. Language Requirements Candidates must demonstrate fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of additional UN languages, especially French or Spanish, will be considered an asset. Internship Conditions The internship is fully remote, allowing selected candidates to work from different locations globally. Interns are expected to be available at least four days per week during the programme period. UNDP notes that interns may receive a stipend in line with organizational internship policies to assist with daily expenses associated with the internship.
