Role Purpose and Strategic Contribution The National Project Officer will play a central role in shaping and implementing education programmes and policies. The role contributes to: Advancing education for peace and sustainability Strengthening programme design and evaluation frameworks Enhancing policy uptake and implementation Supporting institutional learning and innovation Key Responsibilities The position encompasses three primary functional areas: Programme Design and Policy Development Lead the design and development of educational and research programmes Support teams in creating programme frameworks, including Theories of Change Develop guidelines, tools, and documentation for programme implementation Contribute to policy analysis and ensure alignment with institutional goals Coordination and Project Management Coordinate multidisciplinary teams involved in programme development and evaluation Ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs Manage partnerships with academic institutions, government bodies, and stakeholders Ensure compliance with Results-Based Management (RBM) frameworks Monitor programme progress and reporting processes Training, Capacity Building, and Knowledge Sharing Deliver training sessions for educators and facilitators Support staff development through mentorship and guidance Promote best practices in curriculum design and programme evaluation Stay informed on emerging trends in education policy and reform Required Qualifications and Experience The role requires a strong academic background and demonstrated professional experience in education and programme management. Education Requirements Master’s degree in education, programme management, evaluation, or related field Professional Experience Minimum of four years of relevant experience in programme design and evaluation Experience managing educational or research projects Familiarity with Results-Based Management (RBM) and monitoring frameworks Experience in content development, particularly in peace, sustainability, or SEL Skills and Competencies Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a blend of analytical, leadership, and communication skills: Strong knowledge of programme design and evaluation methodologies Ability to analyse and synthesise complex information Effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills Strong project management and organizational abilities Clear and persuasive communication skills Commitment to results and continuous improvement Language Requirements Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken) Good working knowledge of Hindi Additional knowledge of other UNESCO official languages is considered an advantage.
