globalsouthopportunities.com

Application Deadline

July 17, 2026

Description

Online programme empowers young creators to produce reliable sexual and reproductive health and rights content The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has opened applications for the Young Creators Lab 2026, a regional online programme designed to support young digital creators and youth-led organisations in developing accurate, inclusive and rights-based content on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender equality and life skills. The initiative responds to the growing influence of social media, short-form videos and online creators as major sources of information for young people across Asia and the Pacific. Applications for the programme close on 17 July 2026. Addressing misinformation through youth-led digital content Young people increasingly use digital platforms to learn about topics such as body awareness, relationships, health, gender and personal rights. While online platforms provide easier access to information, they also expose users to challenges including misinformation, harmful stereotypes and digital abuse. The UNFPA Young Creators Lab aims to help young creators become trusted sources of accurate information by providing training and support to produce high-quality digital content. The programme focuses on helping participants create content that promotes: Comprehensive sexuality education (CSE). Sexual and reproductive health and rights. Gender equality. Positive life skills. Safe and inclusive online environments. Evidence-based information for young audiences. About the UNFPA Young Creators Lab The Young Creators Lab is a fully online learning programme running from August to October 2026. Participants will take part in: Nine live online sessions. Interactive learning activities. Practical content development exercises. Digital storytelling training. Knowledge assessments. Peer learning and collaboration. The live sessions will take place every Tuesday at 11:00 Bangkok time, allowing participants from across the Asia-Pacific region to participate remotely. Who can apply? UNFPA is inviting applications from young creators and youth-led organisations that meet the following requirements: Applicants must be between 18 and 29 years old. Must be based in a country covered by UNFPA in Asia and the Pacific. Must actively create digital content or represent a youth-led organisation producing content for young audiences. Must have an interest in creating educational, informative or advocacy-focused digital content. The programme welcomes both established and emerging creators. Importantly, applicants are not required to have a large social media following. Micro-creators and new digital voices are encouraged to apply. Skills participants will gain Through the Young Creators Lab, participants will develop skills in: Creating accurate and engaging educational content. Communicating sexual and reproductive health information online. Addressing misinformation and harmful narratives. Promoting gender-sensitive messaging. Using digital platforms responsibly. Developing content that respects human rights and inclusion. Building online communities focused on positive change. The programme is designed to help young creators use their platforms to support healthier conversations and empower other young people. Certificate requirements Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive the UNFPA Youth Creators Lab Completion Certificate. To qualify for certification, participants must: Attend at least 6 of the 9 live sessions. Successfully complete all 8 class quizzes. Follow the programme’s community guidelines and participation standards. The certificate recognises participants who demonstrate commitment to creating responsible and rights-based digital content. Why the programme matters Digital platforms have become one of the most important spaces where young people seek information and connect with communities. However, inaccurate information about health, relationships and rights can create serious challenges for young audiences. By supporting youth creators, UNFPA aims to strengthen a new generation of digital communicators who can share trustworthy information and promote respectful, inclusive discussions. The programme also recognises the role young people play in shaping online conversations and creating solutions for their communities. Application deadline Interested young creators and youth-led organisations must submit their applications before: Deadline: 17 July 2026 The UNFPA Young Creators Lab provides an opportunity for emerging digital voices across Asia and the Pacific to gain specialised skills, connect with other creators and contribute to improving access to reliable health and rights information for young people.
