For Every Child, the Right to Hope UNICEF’s Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) engages with diverse partners to mobilize resources and influence in support of children’s rights. Within this context, UNICEF seeks to strengthen engagement with faith-based and membership organizations, recognizing their moral influence, extensive networks, and advocacy potential. This consultancy will play a key role in enhancing UNICEF’s partnerships in the faith sector, expanding both financial and non-financial collaborations to advance shared goals. Purpose of the Assignment The Partnership Consultant will strengthen UNICEF’s collaboration with faith-based and membership organizations by leveraging advocacy, thought leadership, and social and behavior change (SBC) strategies. The consultant will ensure UNICEF’s strategic objectives are effectively advanced within the faith sector by integrating influence, communication, and funding efforts. Working under the supervision of the Partnerships Specialist, the consultant will collaborate with colleagues in Advocacy, Social and Behavior Change, and Global Partnerships to develop new engagement tools, strategies, and events. Key Responsibilities The consultant will be responsible for the following key functions: 1. Adapt Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Toolkits Review and adapt existing SBC toolkits to align with the language, tone, and priorities of faith-based and membership partners. Coordinate peer review and final approval of the adapted materials. 2. Coordinate Faith-Led Advocacy and Fundraising Activations Lead UNICEF’s engagement in faith-driven advocacy campaigns, particularly those promoting the moral case for aid. Design and implement an engagement plan, including partner workshops, toolkits, and internal advocacy resources. 3. Develop a Faith Thought Leadership Strategy Identify and coordinate UNICEF’s participation in major global faith-led convenings such as: Arigatou Day of Prayer and Action for Children COP Faith Engagement Sessions G20 Interfaith Forum World Parliament of Religions Prepare engagement and participation strategies for each key event. 4. Plan and Facilitate Faith Leadership Circle Events Organize two online and one in-person Faith Leadership Circle events. Develop agendas, prepare content and logistical arrangements, and compile post-event reports and follow-up actions. 5. Develop Comprehensive Partner Toolkits Produce a user-friendly toolkit that signposts existing advocacy and SBC resources for use by faith-based and membership partners. Draft a guidance note for fundraising colleagues on how to leverage these materials in partnership proposals. Payment Terms:Payments will be issued upon submission of satisfactory deliverables and invoices. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold partial or full payment for incomplete or delayed outputs. All intellectual property rights to materials produced will remain with UNICEF. Consultant’s Workplace and Travel The consultancy is home-based / remote. Travel may be required for specific assignments; costs will be reimbursed per UNICEF travel policy. All official travel must be pre-approved in writing and compliant with UN BSAFE, vaccination, and insurance requirements. Qualifications and Experience Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in International Development, Theology, Fundraising, Communications, or a related field. A first-level university degree plus two (2) additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of professional experience in partnerships, communications, or advocacy, including engagement with faith-based organizations. Proven experience in advocacy, SBC adaptation, and event coordination. Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills. Language Requirements: Fluency in English (required). Knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset. Additional Information Applicants must indicate an all-inclusive (lump sum) fee in USD, covering all costs related to deliverables. Consultants are not considered staff members and are responsible for their own tax obligations. Health insurance and valid visa (if applicable) are the consultant’s responsibility. Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required unless the consultant works fully remotely and does not travel or visit UNICEF sites.
