About the Future Fluid Dynamics Summer Research Internship The Summer Research Internship Programme provides participants with first-hand exposure to university-level research at the University of Leeds. Paid Independent Research Projects Available Successful applicants will complete a paid independent research project supervised by University of Leeds academics. Internship projects involve: Up to 210 hours of research work. A duration of approximately 6 to 8 weeks. Flexible scheduling over a maximum period of three months during the summer. Participants receive financial support through a student stipend and may also receive funding support for research materials. Available funding includes: Student stipend. Applicants must meet the following requirements: Be graduates or current second- or third-year undergraduate students. Be eligible for the Home (UK) fee rate for postgraduate research study. Be considering progression to postgraduate research opportunities. Unfortunately, the programme is not available to international students. Applications are encouraged from candidates who have not previously completed a research internship and who meet one or more widening participation criteria. Eligible applicants may include individuals who: Are the first in their family to attend university. Come from Black, Asian, or other minoritised ethnic backgrounds. Are neurodivergent, including individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or ADHD. Have a disability, including physical impairments, mental health conditions, learning difficulties, or chronic illnesses. Identify as female. Have caring responsibilities. Have been outside formal education for five or more years.
