The University of Oxford is recruiting a Senior Communications Manager to support the What Works Hub for Global Education, based at the Blavatnik School of Government in Oxford. Role Overview The Senior Communications Manager will lead and implement the communications strategy for the What Works Hub for Global Education. The role is responsible for translating complex research and policy outputs into accessible, engaging, and impactful communication materials for diverse global audiences. Key audiences include: Policymakers in partner countries International development organisations Academic researchers and institutions Global education stakeholders The role requires close collaboration with internal teams and international partners to ensure consistent messaging and strategic outreach. Key Responsibilities The Senior Communications Manager will oversee a broad range of strategic and operational communications functions, including: Strategic Communications Leadership Develop and implement the Hub’s communications strategy Position the Hub as a global leader in education evidence and policy Align messaging across multiple countries and partners Content Development and Dissemination Produce high-quality written content, including reports, articles, and web copy Translate complex research into clear and accessible narratives Manage dissemination of findings to global audiences Digital Communications Management Oversee the Hub’s website content and structure Manage social media platforms and digital engagement strategies Ensure consistency across all online communication channels Stakeholder and Partner Engagement Coordinate with international implementation partners Support communications across different country contexts Strengthen relationships with policymakers and global institutions Team Leadership and Coordination Line manage a Communications and Projects Officer Provide guidance and oversight on communications delivery Work closely with the School’s central communications team About the Programme The What Works Hub for Global Education is a research-driven initiative focused on improving education systems globally. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a highly skilled communications professional with experience in complex, research-intensive environments. The role requires a strong ability to translate technical and academic content into clear and impactful messaging.
