LGA TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (TA) COORDINATOR RECRUITMENT – AREWA HEALTH TRUST INITIATIVE (AHTI) Arewa Health Trust Initiative (AHTI), an indigenous non-governmental organization committed to advancing community health equity and strengthening health systems across Northern Nigeria, is currently inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of LGA Technical Assistance (TA) Coordinator. Nigerian economic news   AHTI focuses on improving maternal and child health outcomes through evidence-based interventions and strategic partnerships that ensure sustainable access to quality healthcare services for underserved populations. LOCATION:Gwaram, Birnin Kudu, Jahun, Dutse, Kazaure, Suletankarkar, Maigatari, Mallam Madori, and Yankwashi LGAs, Jigawa State SLOTS: 9 Positions (One per LGA) CONTRACT DURATION: 18 Months (July 2026 – December 2027) PROJECT OVERVIEW:Beginning in July 2026, AHTI will implement an 18-month GAVI-supported Routine Immunization (RI) and Primary Health Care (PHC) Integration Project across nine priority LGAs in Jigawa State. The initiative aims to reduce the number of zero-dose and under-immunized children through an innovative Performance-Based Financing (PBF) model. This approach will be implemented in collaboration with local Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) to enhance grassroots engagement and service delivery. ROLE SUMMARY:AHTI seeks to engage nine dedicated LGA Technical Assistance Coordinators who will be embedded within their assigned LGAs. These coordinators will serve as the primary field-level focal points responsible for ensuring quality assurance, data accuracy, and effective project implementation. They will provide direct technical support to partner CBOs, supervise community health volunteers, and oversee data verification processes that inform performance-based payments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Provide ongoing mentorship and operational support to assigned CBOs to ensure adherence to project standards• Lead monthly verification exercises by visiting health facilities to validate CBO data against official immunization records• Supervise and support Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) in identifying zero-dose children and reducing immunization dropouts• Act as the liaison between AHTI’s state office, local partners, health facilities, and LGA health authorities• Monitor vaccine availability and cold chain systems, promptly reporting any challenges• Ensure compliance with data quality, ethical standards, and reporting protocols REQUIREMENTS:• Minimum of a Degree or Diploma in Public Health, Nursing, Community Health (CHEW), Social Sciences, or a related field• At least three (3) years of relevant field experience in public health programs, especially in immunization or maternal and child health• Mandatory residency within or strong ties to the preferred LGA of application• Fluency in Hausa (spoken and written) is essential• Basic proficiency in mobile data collection tools such as KoboToolbox or ODK• Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills with high integrity APPLICATION PROCESS:Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
