Vacancy Announcement: Data Entry Operator – Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Organization: Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders Location: Maiduguri, Borno State Contract Type: Fixed-term (with possibility of extension) Application Deadline: 8 March 2026 Role Overview In the complex humanitarian landscape of Borno State, data is a life-saving asset. The Data Entry Operator is responsible for the systematic and confidential management of medical information. This role ensures that patient visits, prescriptions, and lab results are accurately digitized, allowing MSF to track disease trends, measure program impact, and optimize healthcare delivery in IDP camps and seasonal intervention sites. Key Responsibilities 1. Data Encoding & Management Accurately enter clinical data (prescriptions, lab results, and patient visits) into MSF databases. Encode specialized data from iCCM (Integrated Community Case Management) sites and seasonal activities like Malaria test-and-treat programs. Search for missing information to ensure a 100% complete and reliable database. 2. Quality Assurance & Reporting Perform regular data cleaning to identify and correct discrepancies in patient files. Generate weekly or monthly statistical reports to support medical coordination teams. Ensure regular backups of all digital medical records to prevent data loss. 3. Confidentiality & Maintenance Uphold strict medical confidentiality in accordance with MSF protocols and data protection standards. Maintain the hardware and workspace used for information processing to ensure zero downtime. Requirements & Competencies Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant field. Experience: Prior knowledge of DHIS2 (District Health Information Software) is a significant advantage. Technical Skills: * Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, data cleaning) and MS Word. Ability to quickly learn specialized MSF software such as Fuchia and EpiInfo. Languages: Fluency in the Local language (Hausa/Kanuri) is essential for communication; English is required for reporting. Soft Skills: Results-oriented, high attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a multicultural team.
