VVOB – Education for Development is inviting qualified, motivated and mission-driven professionals to apply for several key positions within its Kenya programme. Operating globally, VVOB strengthens education systems by empowering teachers, school leaders and education partners through sustainable, evidence-based approaches. To support ongoing programme expansion, VVOB is recruiting for the following roles based in Nairobi, Kenya: Accountant – ACSL, Finance Officer – ACSL, Operations and Procurement Officer – ACSL, and Strategic Education Advisor, Blended Learning – ACSL. Each role offers an opportunity to contribute to systemic education transformation and to work with expert teams dedicated to impactful development. 1. Accountant – ACSL The Accountant will provide financial processing, compliance management and bookkeeping support to ensure that VVOB’s financial operations within the ACSL programme are accurate, timely and aligned with internal controls. This position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of maintaining financial integrity across multiple transactions and supporting programme teams with reliable financial information. Key Responsibilities Process financial transactions, including payments, receipts and reconciliations, in line with VVOB finance policies. Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure proper filing of supporting documentation. Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting. Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to audit queries. Monitor cash flow, prepare payment schedules and support budget tracking. Ensure compliance with donor regulations, statutory requirements and organisational standards. Eligibility and Key Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent (minimum CPA II). At least 3 years of accounting experience in an INGO, development project or similar environment. Strong knowledge of accounting systems, financial regulations and audit procedures. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel. High attention to detail, integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information. 2. Finance Officer – ACSL The Finance Officer will oversee financial planning, donor compliance, budget management and analytic support to guide programme decision-making. This role requires excellent analytical capacity and a strong command of financial governance frameworks. Key Responsibilities Lead budgeting and financial forecasting processes for programme teams. Prepare high-quality donor financial reports and ensure compliance with grant agreements. Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for financial adjustments. Monitor expenditure, review supporting documents and ensure alignment with approved budgets. Strengthen financial systems and support capacity development for programme staff. Ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory financial requirements. Eligibility and Key Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field. Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent). At least 5 years of financial management experience, preferably in donor-funded programmes. Strong understanding of donor compliance frameworks and project finance. Advanced analytical and reporting skills. Proficiency in financial management software and advanced MS Excel functionalities. Strong integrity, accuracy and ability to work under pressure. 3. Operations and Procurement Officer – ACSL This position ensures efficient operational systems, procurement processes and logistical support within the ACSL programme. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all procurement, contracting and administrative systems are aligned with organisational and donor standards. Key Responsibilities Lead procurement planning, tendering, evaluation, contracting and vendor management. Maintain an updated supplier database and procurement tracking system. Ensure compliance with VVOB procurement procedures and donor requirements. Oversee asset management, inventory control and logistical coordination. Support operational planning, office administration and event logistics. Prepare procurement reports and maintain accurate documentation for audits and reviews. Eligibility and Key Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field. Professional certification (CIPS, KISM or equivalent) is an added advantage. At least 3–5 years of experience in procurement and operations within NGOs or development programmes. Strong knowledge of procurement laws, donor guidelines and contract management. Excellent organisational, communication and vendor negotiation skills. Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems and MS Office. 4. Strategic Education Advisor – Blended Learning (ACSL) This senior advisory role is central to shaping VVOB’s blended learning strategies within the ACSL programme. The position requires a specialist in digital learning, teacher professional development and education system strengthening who can design and support innovative, scalable learning solutions. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership on blended learning approaches across programme components. Design, refine and evaluate teacher training models that combine digital and in-person learning. Lead capacity-building initiatives for education partners and government counterparts. Support the integration of technology-enhanced learning into national education systems. Conduct research, contribute to evidence-based practices and support knowledge dissemination. Ensure alignment between blended learning strategies and VVOB’s global education quality standards. Engage with stakeholders to promote innovation, policy dialogue and sustainable adoption. Eligibility and Key Requirements Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology or related field. At least 7–10 years of experience in teacher development, digital pedagogy or education system strengthening. Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing blended learning programmes. Strong understanding of evidence-based pedagogy, curriculum design and capacity-development strategies. Excellent advisory, facilitation and stakeholder-engagement skills. Ability to develop strategic frameworks and contribute to policy-level discussions. Experience working with Ministries of Education or similar institutions is highly desirable.
