WomenatthecentrE is seeking a Research Coordinator to join its team on a full-time contract basis. This newly created role offers a salary range of $52,000–$58,000 plus benefits, with an immediate start date and a contract running until March 31, 2027. The position presents an opportunity to contribute to a transformative, survivor-led organization working to eradicate gender-based violence (GBV). About the Organization WomenatthecentrE is a global, survivor-led nonprofit dedicated to centering the voices and expertise of women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals who have experienced GBV. With a membership of over 7,000 individuals worldwide, the organization drives personal, political, and social advocacy aimed at systemic change. The organization’s work is grounded in: Survivor leadership and lived experience Anti-oppression and feminist frameworks Community-based collaboration and advocacy Transformative social change through collective action Project Overview: Beyond Surviving The Research Coordinator will support the “Beyond Surviving: Capacity to Grow, Sustain, and Dream” initiative. This one-year project is designed to strengthen organizational capacity, enhance research and project management systems, and build sustainable strategies for long-term impact. The initiative focuses on: Enhancing team functionality and collaboration Building survivor-led leadership capacity Strengthening research, evaluation, and reporting systems Supporting sustainable growth and strategic planning A Survivor-Stakeholder Advisory Committee—comprising staff, board members, leadership, students, and volunteers—will guide the project through ongoing engagement and diverse perspectives. Core Project Pillars Grow This pillar focuses on strengthening internal systems and research capacity through: Development of Human Resources GBA+ policies and practices Creation of a Survivor-Led Research Manual Delivery of team trainings, including project management and OCAP principles Implementation of individualized learning and development plans Sustain This component emphasizes long-term organizational viability by: Developing a comprehensive sustainability plan Establishing grant-writing guidelines Strengthening collective voice and funding capacity Dream This pillar aims to shape the organization’s future through: Creation of a three-year strategic roadmap Coordination of a two-day in-person team engagement event Strengthening organizational culture and shared vision Key Responsibilities The Research Coordinator will play a central role in supporting research, evaluation, and project implementation. Responsibilities include: Supporting the Stakeholder Advisory Committee and project coordination Managing project tools, timelines, and reporting processes Preparing detailed reports for stakeholders and funders Maintaining relationships with project sponsors Supporting project evaluation and closure processes Applying trauma- and violence-informed approaches in all work Research-specific duties include: Developing a comprehensive Research Manual and standardized tools Creating templates for surveys, interviews, focus groups, and assessments Designing research protocols, ethics documentation, and consent processes Supporting qualitative and quantitative data analysis guidelines Contributing to data management and documentation standards Assisting with internal research training and capacity building Required Qualifications and Skills Candidates are expected to bring a strong background in research and collaboration, including: 3–5 years of experience in academic, nonprofit, or applied research Post-secondary education in a relevant field Experience developing research tools, protocols, and evaluation frameworks Knowledge of ethical research practices and participant safety Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative analysis methods Strong writing, documentation, and organizational skills Additional competencies include: Effective communication and stakeholder engagement Strong facilitation and collaboration abilities Attention to detail and project coordination skills Knowledge of gender equity, GBA+, and feminist practices Understanding of survivor-led and participatory research approaches Preferred Qualifications Ideal candidates may also have: Lived experience as a survivor of GBV Experience working in nonprofit research environments Bilingual proficiency in French and English Commitment to Equity and Accessibility WomenatthecentrE is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and safe work environment.
