Designed for professionals interested in development, trade, and humanitarian impact, this short-term consultancy offers a unique opportunity to contribute to refugee economic inclusion from anywhere in the world. A Strategic Role in Global Development: UN International Trade Centre (ITC) This position sits within ITC’s Refugees and Trade Programme, an initiative focused on improving economic opportunities for displaced populations, including refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and returning migrants. Operating under the Women, Youth, and Vulnerable Communities section, the program aims to strengthen livelihoods by connecting vulnerable groups to markets, enhancing policy frameworks, and fostering inclusive business ecosystems. The selected contractor will play a key support role in coordinating, implementing, and monitoring projects that directly impact these communities. With the contract running from June 1 to September 30, 2026, the role is structured to deliver measurable outputs within a defined timeframe. Core Responsibilities and Deliverables: UN International Trade Centre (ITC) The Individual Contractor will work under the supervision of a programme officer and contribute across four primary areas: 1. Coordination and Project TrackingThe contractor will assist in managing project timelines, tracking deliverables, and ensuring alignment between headquarters and in-country teams. Deliverables include maintaining a project tracker updated weekly and producing regular coordination briefs. 2. Implementation SupportFrom organizing workshops and training sessions to maintaining project databases, the contractor will help ensure that activities are executed efficiently. This includes supporting 2–4 activities per month and ensuring accurate documentation. 3. Monitoring and ReportingA significant part of the role involves compiling reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring data accuracy. Expected outputs include monthly and quarterly reports, as well as consistent KPI updates. 4. Research and WritingThe contractor will contribute to research on refugee economic participation, draft project documents, and support proposal development. This includes producing research briefs and contributing to strategic documentation. UN International Trade Centre (ITC): Who Should Apply? This opportunity is ideal for early-career professionals with a background in social sciences, development studies, or business administration. While a university degree is desirable, equivalent experience may be considered. Candidates with at least two years of experience in economic inclusion or development programming will be particularly well-suited. Additional advantages include familiarity with project implementation and experience working in multicultural or international teams. Key skills include: Strong organizational and coordination abilities Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Capacity to work independently and collaboratively across borders Language and Work Environment Fluency in English is required, while knowledge of French or Arabic is considered a strong asset.
