This fixed-term role plays a central function in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of financial operations within the India office. The Finance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accounting systems, processing transactions, supporting audits, and coordinating with various internal departments to ensure seamless financial workflows. Position Overview The Finance Specialist – Accounts Payable will carry out a wide range of recurring accounting and compliance tasks, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in alignment with statutory requirements and World Vision International (WVI) policies. The role requires strong financial discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Key Responsibilities 1. Compliance and Internal Controls The Finance Specialist will uphold WVI’s internal control framework and ensure adherence to statutory regulations. Responsibilities include: Recording and reporting all financial transactions as per statutory and organizational requirements Deducting and depositing government fees and taxes such as TDS and GST within required timelines Supporting internal and external audits by preparing documentation and facilitating review activities Implementing audit recommendations to strengthen compliance Reviewing outstanding items in the balance sheet and ensuring timely follow-up and clearance 2. Recording and Reporting Financial Transactions The role requires consistent, accurate, and timely data management across multiple systems: Processing payments and importing transactions into SunSystem, the organization’s accounting software Executing COUPA payment processes and coordinating with the Shared Services Center (SSC) to ensure prompt approvals Reviewing invoices and validating supporting documents before posting transactions Maintaining organized soft and hard-copy records for all vouchers and payment evidence Generating financial reports to track spending, monitor budget variance, and support internal stakeholders with financial insights 3. Petty Cash and Departmental Support The Finance Specialist will manage petty cash operations and support other departments as required: Managing local fund petty cash strictly following organizational policy Updating the petty cash register daily and performing monthly reconciliations Depositing other forms of cash received, including donations and proceeds from asset sales Managing internal fund transfers and ensuring timely reimbursement of project expenses Processing centralized purchases and allocating charges to relevant Area Development Programmes (ADPs) Coordinating with banks on updates such as KYC changes, signatory modifications, and other banking tasks 4. Record Management and Audit Preparation Comprehensive documentation is essential in ensuring audit readiness and transparent financial operations: Maintaining accurate soft and hard-copy records of all financial transactions Completing FEL processes on schedule each month Maintaining the corporate audit tracker Ensuring timely preparation of audit deliverables and responding to audit queries Qualifications and Experience Candidates must meet the following criteria: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting Strong computer skills, particularly MS Excel and MS Office tools Good written and verbal communication abilities Strong analytical and coordination skills 1–2 years of relevant professional experience in accounting or finance Ability to work with accuracy, maintain confidentiality, and handle multiple tasks efficiently Compensation The maximum salary offered for this role is INR 45,000 per month, based on qualifications and experience.
