World Vision U.S.–Based Internship Talent Pool: Spring and Summer Cohorts (Remote)
globalsouthopportunities.com

Application Deadline

January 7, 2026

Description

Overview of World Vision’s Mission For more than seventy-five years, World Vision has remained committed to supporting the most vulnerable children and communities around the world. With a presence in nearly one hundred countries and a global workforce of over 33,000 staff, the organisation works to ensure children of all backgrounds can overcome poverty and experience fullness of life. Motivated by its Christian faith, World Vision provides relief, development, and advocacy support even in the world’s most challenging and dangerous contexts. The U.S.–based internship programme reflects this mission by engaging students and recent graduates who seek meaningful, purpose-driven professional experiences in the international development sector. Purpose of the Internship Talent Pool World Vision offers a structured internship programme during the spring and summer seasons; however, recruitment for these periods does not remain open continuously. To prepare for upcoming cycles, the organisation maintains a Talent Pool of qualified applicants who wish to be considered once positions officially open. This Talent Pool allows prospective interns to submit interest ahead of recruitment and to be contacted when specific opportunities match their skills, fields of study, and professional aspirations. Joining the pool does not guarantee a placement but positions candidates for early review when the internship cycle begins. Structure and Focus of the Internship Programme The U.S.–based internship programme provides a three-month learning experience designed to immerse participants in the international relief and development field. Interns gain exposure to sector-specific challenges, contribute to meaningful workstreams, and build relationships with experienced professionals across various World Vision departments. Internship placements may include full-time or part-time options ranging from 24 to 40 hours per week. The programme spans two annual cohorts: Spring Cohort: January to April Summer Cohort: May to August Although the internship is unpaid, U.S.-based participants receive a monthly stipend of 800 USD to support their involvement. All roles are remote, and candidates must reside in one of the U.S. states where World Vision is registered as an employer. Eligibility Requirements To be considered for future internship openings, applicants must meet core eligibility criteria. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or postgraduate programme within the last two years, and possess valid work authorisation in the United States. Since the internship includes a stipend, applicants must also meet E-Verify employment eligibility requirements and hold a valid Social Security Number. Interns must commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week for the duration of the cohort and demonstrate willingness to use personal electronic devices for internship tasks. Candidates must accept the installation of World Vision’s security software on those devices. Because World Vision is a Christian organisation, all interns must adhere to the organisation’s Christian Statement of Faith. Fields of Opportunity World Vision’s internship opportunities vary by year depending on organisational needs. However, roles generally fall within key thematic and operational sectors that reflect the organisation’s global mandate. Potential areas include: Accounting, Finance, and Treasury Child Protection and Participation Communications and Marketing Evidence, Strategy, and Ministry Faith and Development Food Security and WASH Global Health and Nutrition Real Estate and Corporate Services Global Supply Chain Governance and Board Development Grants Acquisition and Management Human Resources / People and Culture Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs Information Technology Learning and Development Monitoring and Evaluation VisionFund International (Microfinance) These fields allow interns to engage with real-world issues such as poverty reduction, humanitarian response, programme evaluation, digital transformation, and organisational strategy. How to Apply to the Talent Pool Candidates interested in being considered for future internship opportunities should submit an application to the Talent Pool posting. Applicants are required to upload a résumé and a cover letter. In the cover letter, candidates should specify their top three areas of professional interest to help the organisation align applicants with suitable internship placements. Once the recruitment cycle opens, World Vision reviews candidates from the Talent Pool and contacts individuals whose skills and aspirations match upcoming openings. Candidates may also follow the organisation’s internship page or LinkedIn updates to remain informed about application timelines. Culture and Organisational Values World Vision operates within a global partnership model, emphasising shared values, collaborative learning, and a commitment to positive transformational change. The organisation promotes a work environment grounded in dignity, purpose, and mutual support. Staff and interns contribute to a mission that is rooted in service, faith, and advocacy, guided by the principle that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
