Youth and Environment Europe (YEE) is inviting applications for the position of Advocacy Manager, a key leadership role responsible for coordinating and strengthening the organisation’s advocacy work across Europe. The position is scheduled to begin in March 2026 and is offered on a 10-month contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability. This role is designed for an individual with strong experience in youth advocacy, environmental and climate justice, and policy engagement at European and international levels. The Advocacy Manager will play a central role in ensuring that YEE’s advocacy efforts are coherent, strategic, evidence-informed, and rooted in youth-led and intersectional approaches. Position Overview Working time: 25 hours per week Contract duration: 1 March 2026 – 31 December 2026 Location: Remote, based in Europe Monthly remuneration: €2,251.99 (gross) Contract type: Service contract (or local employment contract in the Czech Republic) The Advocacy Manager will participate in an onboarding meeting in late February 2026, followed by a two-month provisional period at the start of the mandate. Objective of the Position The Advocacy Manager is a central figure within YEE’s organisational structure and works closely with: The Advocacy Department The Executive Board The Secretariat Member organisations and external partners The primary objective of the role is to coordinate, steer, and enhance YEE’s advocacy efforts, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s values, strategic priorities, and commitment to youth inclusion in environmental decision-making. Through this role, YEE aims to strengthen its engagement in European and international policy spaces and amplify youth perspectives in responses to the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. Key Responsibilities Coordination of the Advocacy Department Lead and coordinate advocacy initiatives across YEE projects and thematic areas Ensure coherence and quality across advocacy outputs, positions, and campaigns Support member organisations in advocacy-related activities and capacity building EU and International Policy Engagement Monitor, analyse, and respond to European and international policy developments relevant to youth and environmental justice Translate youth perspectives into concrete advocacy strategies and policy positions Represent YEE in relevant policy processes, consultations, and events Partnerships and Representation Strengthen collaboration with member organisations, partners, and youth constituencies Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective advocacy coordination Support advocacy-related events, campaigns, and initiatives, including innovative approaches such as artivism Profile of Candidates Sought YEE is seeking candidates who: Are deeply committed to environmental advocacy, youth empowerment, and social justice Have prior experience in youth advocacy, policy engagement, or related fields Demonstrate strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate priorities into action Are confident communicators in professional, public, and policy-oriented settings Are highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously Work effectively both independently and collaboratively across teams and departments Show creativity and openness to innovative advocacy methods Maintain a solid understanding of European and international policy processes related to youth and the environment Demonstrate cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and respect when working with diverse communities Essential Requirements Applicants must meet the following criteria: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Residency in Europe, preferably with an existing EU working permit Under 35 years of age by the end of the contract period Strong alignment with YEE’s mission, values, and youth-led approach Selection Process The call for applications is open from 22 December 2025 to 5 January 2026. Interested candidates are required to: Prepare a CV highlighting relevant education and professional experience Complete the online application form by 5 January 2026 at 23:59 CET Following the application deadline: Shortlisting will take place Selected candidates will be invited to online interviews during the last week of January and the first week of February 2026 Successful candidates will participate in an onboarding and induction process prior to the start date Contract and Remuneration The Advocacy Manager will receive: A gross monthly remuneration of €2,251.99 for 25 hours per week A service contract, requiring the ability to issue invoices in accordance with national legislation Alternatively, candidates based in the Czech Republic may be offered a local employment contract in line with Czech labour law.
