The Youth Co:Lab National Innovation Challenge 2026 is a flagship youth innovation platform advancing sustainable entrepreneurship in India. Launched in India in 2019 by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), the initiative empowers young entrepreneurs to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2026 edition is organised in collaboration with T-Hub and focuses on the theme of Responsible Consumption, aligned with the Government of India’s Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment). This marks the 8th edition of the National Innovation Challenge in India. Application Deadline: Before midnight, 3 March 2026 About Youth Co:Lab Originally co-created in 2017 by UNDP and the Citi Foundation, Youth Co:Lab aims to build a common regional agenda across Asia-Pacific countries to empower youth leadership, social innovation, and entrepreneurship. In India, the platform has conducted seven national innovation challenges, hosting dialogues, workshops, mentorship engagements, and investment-readiness programmes. It provides seed grants and connects early-stage founders with mentors, investors, and peers to transform ideas into scalable ventures. 2026 Challenge Theme: Responsible Consumption The 2026 challenge supports innovations that promote sustainable lifestyles and environmental responsibility. Startups must align with one of the following sub-themes: 1. Sustainable Textiles and Fashion Focuses on reducing the environmental and social footprint of the fashion and textile industry. Examples: Low-impact fibres and eco-friendly dyeing processes Circular garment design and repair models Waste reduction and textile reuse systems Transparent and ethical supply chains 2. Circular Economy Innovations Supports solutions that extend product life cycles and reduce waste across industries. Examples: Electronic waste and plastic alternative solutions Upcycling, composting, and zero-waste products Take-back systems and materials recovery Product-as-a-service and remanufacturing models 3. Sustainable Food Systems and Water Conservation Targets innovations that improve agricultural sustainability and water-use efficiency.
