globalsouthopportunities.com

Application Deadline

November 9, 2026

Description

The Yves Rocher Foundation Terre de Femmes International Award 2027 is now accepting applications from women worldwide who are leading environmental initiatives that place trees at the centre of urban life. The international award supports practical projects that protect trees, expand urban green spaces and improve the sustainability of cities. Selected projects will receive a €10,000 grant each, with two winners to be selected internationally. Applications are open to women of all nationalities who meet the eligibility requirements and implement their initiatives through an established non-profit organisation. The 2027 edition focuses on the theme “Trees in the City”, recognising the importance of urban trees in addressing climate change, protecting biodiversity and improving community well-being. Overview of the Terre de Femmes International Award 2027 Opportunity: Terre de Femmes International Award 2027 Host organisation: Yves Rocher Foundation Award value: €10,000 per winning project Number of winners: Two projects selected worldwide Eligible applicants: Women aged 18 or older, individually or as a collective Eligible nationalities: All nationalities Project location: Any country worldwide Organisation requirement: An eligible non-profit organisation established for at least one year Application deadline: 30 November 2026, at midnight Application platform: Wiin About the 2027 Award Theme: Trees in the City Urban trees provide essential environmental and social benefits. They help cool streets, improve air quality, provide habitats for wildlife, reduce the effects of urban heat and create more welcoming public spaces. However, cities worldwide face increasing environmental pressures, including extreme heat, flooding, drought, water scarcity and declining green spaces. The Yves Rocher Foundation aims to recognise women-led initiatives that address these challenges through practical, nature-based solutions. The award seeks projects that demonstrate how trees can contribute to climate resilience, biodiversity conservation and healthier urban communities. Initiatives may operate in cities and surrounding peri-urban areas. Who Can Apply? The competition is open to women from all countries who meet the following requirements: Applicants must be women aged 18 or older, applying individually or as a collective of women. Applicants must be committed to nature conservation, particularly initiatives involving trees. They must lead a concrete project that is being implemented in a country of their choice. The project must be carried out through a non-profit organisation, such as an association, non-governmental organisation, foundation or similar eligible entity. The organisation must have been established for at least one year. Women working in environmental conservation, urban planning, community development, agroforestry, biodiversity protection and climate action may find this opportunity particularly relevant. Applicants should review the official guidelines to confirm the complete eligibility conditions and any documentation required before submitting their applications. What Projects Are Eligible? The award supports practical initiatives that protect, restore or expand urban trees and green spaces. Examples of eligible activities include: Urban environmental education: Hands-on educational programmes involving children, schools and local communities to raise awareness of the value of trees. Urban agroforestry: Innovative food-production systems such as forest gardens and community orchards within urban environments. Heritage tree conservation: Projects protecting notable, historic or culturally significant trees in cities. Urban greening: Ecologically informed initiatives that introduce trees and vegetation into built-up areas. Tree nurseries: Establishing urban nurseries for native species or endangered trees. Urban reforestation: Planting and restoring trees in densely populated neighbourhoods, brownfield sites, streets, rooftops, schools, hospitals and other built environments. Green-space restoration: Creating, maintaining or restoring urban and peri-urban woodlands, parks, gardens and riverbanks. Projects should demonstrate a clear environmental purpose and practical activities that contribute to the conservation and enhancement of urban trees. What Does the Award Provide? Two projects will be selected worldwide, with each winner receiving a €10,000 grant to support their initiative. In addition to financial support, successful applicants will join a community of women committed to environmental protection and nature conservation. The recognition may also help project leaders strengthen their visibility, partnerships and opportunities to expand their work. The grant could support activities such as tree planting, native-species nurseries, community engagement, environmental education or the restoration and maintenance of urban green spaces, depending on the project’s approved scope. How to Apply for the Yves Rocher Foundation Award Interested applicants should submit their applications through the official Wiin application platform. Review the award information and eligibility criteria on the Yves Rocher Foundation website. Confirm that the project focuses on trees in urban or peri-urban environments and is implemented through an eligible non-profit organisation. Prepare a clear description of the project, its objectives, planned activities, expected environmental impact and the communities it serves. Gather the required organisational and supporting documentation. Submit the application through the official online platform before the deadline. How to Strengthen Your Application Applicants should explain the environmental challenge their project addresses and demonstrate how their proposed activities will protect, restore or expand urban tree cover. A strong application should include measurable objectives, a realistic implementation plan, community participation and evidence of the project’s ecological value. Applicants should also explain how the initiative will be sustained beyond the grant period and how its benefits will be monitored. Where available, include supporting evidence of previous activities, partnerships, community involvement and the organisation’s experience delivering environmental projects. Application Deadline and Enquiries Applications close on Monday, 30 November 2026, at midnight. Applicants should check the official platform for the applicable time zone and submit well before the deadline.
